I just returned from Russia a few days ago and wanted to share my grieving in the horribly sad loss of Sue while I was away. She was truly one-of-a-kind both in her humor and kindness. Her dedication to keeping our Class of 64 united was unparalleled and had everything to do with planning our reunions, keeping our budgets and breathing passion into our lives. I will miss her very much as we move forward. As so many of you have said, her spirit will continue to be within us and her memories will add joy to every part of our lives. Cheers Sue, you gave us so much for which we are eternally grateful.
And to Denny Alexander, my condolences on the loss of you father. Like all of our parents, he sounded like a great man. As our losses mount, we should find more to celebrate than to mourn. We have been very fortunate to have had such love from our parents.
Thanks to all of you for keeping the news, photos and info flowing here. It really made a difference over the past month to know what you were all doing when I was aching because I couldn't be here with you.
Linda and Helen, I didn't know anyone at 123 Sesame St. but I did know Jerry Guergin (as I remember the spelling). He lived at 1 Wach Dr. behind Oakland School and went to Trinity. I think he still lived there when we graduated. I have no idea where he went after that.
A little trivia from my sometimes faulty memory. Cookie Monster's first name was Ralph and (believe it or not) he had a wife named Trudy. On one episode of SS, Cookie M. won a gameshow prize and had to choose between a new house, $10,000 and a cookie. Trudy made it easy for him when she said, "Ralph, you know how much you like cookies."
