Karen Sue (Suzi) Denton Merritt

Working and raising two kids. Dave and I just celebrated our 23rd anniversary. We have 15 grandkids between us. Dave and I have the same birthday. I'm 16 hours older so he married a couger. HAHA. We just moved to a new house so we have been very busy unpacking! I love being retired. If you want to pick up and go somewhere you can just go. We went to Montana early last month, beautiful country out west. We just returned home from a 3 week trip to the south and east. We went to five civil war fields. Dave is a big civil war buff. We went down to the gulf and that is a sad situtation.
I'm a die hard Chicago Bears fan. Have been for over thirty years. I was lucky enough to meet the greatest running back ever, Mr. Sweetness himself. What a great person. GO BEARS!
Dave and I went out to California to visit my sister and family in September. I'm so glad we did because while we were there my brother-in-law fell and hit his head. He passed away two days later. We are all getting to the age where we need to really appreciate each day and each other.
Dave and I are leaving for California the first part of April to visit my family and also go on a two week cruise to Hawaii. Our 65th birthday present to each other. Then when we return to sunny southern Calif. we are headed up the coast to Portland, Or. to see his brother and his wife.
We are now dealing with Dave's liver cancer. It's been a nightmare for the last 5 months. Seen alot of Doctors in Chicago and at Mayo. Well Dave had a liver transplant at Barnes hospital in St. Louis.
