Here's a look at the new BHS football field, which was installed this past summer. The game is tonight's homecoming game, won by Normal 49-28. Fred Carlton Fied doesn't look anything like it did in our time: new home and visitor grandstands installed in 2009; new lighting 15-20 years ago; and now this.

I'm sure most classmates in town have driven by and had a look. But if you live outside Bloomington and haven't been back for a while, this may be interesting to you.

Do you all still buy Halloween Treats?   I'm a fool for them.  I take them to everyone in my building at work.  However, I no longer open my front door at home.  I don't find it safe.   Next house will have the bars without the screen so that I can just reach through to give treats.

I'm still a Cub fan! Not real happy right now, but "Wait 'til next year!".........

The Cubs won 95 games. That isn't a record for a loser. Timing is everything.

... but there may be a record in their scoring output, or lack of it. The Cubs won a lot of 2-1 and 1-0 games, noted Manager Joe Maddon. And yet they flew the W 95 times. A real tribute to their fielding, I suppose, but it doesn't matter now.

Been a Cubs fan since I was knee high to a grasshopper, but today, I’m wearing my Royals lucky Shamrock cap in hopes next season they won’t lose 100+ games

Let's not forget the most important stat of 2018. The Cubs finished ahead of the Cardinals!

That's a great year, IMO.

The U.S. is bracing for another hurricane that might hit at a category 4.  Looks like the east coast is going to be flooding and torn apart again!   After entering land at Florida Gulf Coast it should be terrible for those just inland.  I'm saying my prayers for everyone there!

Suzi, you have been through the ringer. No more falls for you! Hopefully the back surgery will help. What kind of   surgery are you having exactly. Being in the medical field I am always interested in what is being done these days. Sure hope you have a speedy recovery and that this surgery improves the quality of your life tenfold. Wishing you the best.  Hugs, Allida

Suzi,

Prayers for skillful hands of your surgeon and a fast recoverey for you.  Do Not rush to get out of the hospital.  Speaking from experience, saying you're good to go 1 day after having a couple of disks fused was not a great idea.  Walking will be your best therapy once home.  All the best with love and prayers!

Dave

Does anyone remember Timothy P. (Irvin)? I was surfing YouTube and found a song that he recorded years ago, called "After the War". It was quite moving. Like so many of us, he served in VietNam. If anyone is curious, check it out on YouTube. Local boy that is very talented. Ah....the old days.........

Mike, I think Tim Irvin was in the band The Shatertones.

Janet (Jan) Hitzner (Fries)

Tim was one the lead players in the Shattertones.  Also, Bob Landy, Dick Isted, Richard Macy and Kim Mariner was the vocolist, Dave Gaston was also part of this group.  Den was friends with these guys and graduated with Tim from Trinity in 1964.

Thanks everyone, for the feed back. I was well aware of Tim's local history and how popular the groups that he was associated with, were. I was especially touched by that particular song. Irvin had a stint with "Flash Cadilliac" a few years ago. I hope that he is still active in music. It's good to know that B/N is known for something other that State Farm and OSF.

Long live music, garage bands, and treasured sons, like "Timothy P"!

My surgery is on my back but the date is in November.  They changed the date because I have to see a cardiologist.  I will keep you posted.

Ann Bailen had back surgery a few weeks ago.

love to all our classmates
