My back surgery is November 8th.  Hopefully I will be able to kick up my heels and get out and walk.

Get out of that hospital as soon as you can!  Walking is the best form of excercise for recovery.  Experience speaking here.  Best of luck - praying that your surgeon is having his / her best day ever with your surgery.
