The election is history. The Cubs are world champions. Great weather in central Illinois. 70 years old and feeling good. 2016 has been a good year, I'm ready to settle down and enjoy the holidays!

Thanks to all of our classmates that have taken the time to share some of the events in their lives and to allow us to reminisce. A special thanks to the classmates that keep the ball rolling and the rails greased. Your hard work is appreciated.

Like so many others, I'd never heard of Viet Nam. It was some far away place that existed only in geography texts. Thanks to Theo McElvaney and the US Army, all of us hood-lums were off of the streets and enjoyed the unfortunate pleasure of traveling half-way around the world, just to see the place. Sometimes you just get lucky.

I'm honored to share a bond with my fellow veterans.

I have asked this before and I have a start on a collection of pony pictures. I do have Cheryl Turner but still looking for others. I am trying to put a collection together of us kids on a pony in the early 50's. A man traveling through the Twin Cities had a pony and would take kids pictures sitting on that pony. The man had some costume articles to make us look more like cowboys and cowgirls. Do any of you still have your picture from that time? If so, I would love to get a copy of it. Here was mine:

I have a tumor in my throat that is cancerous. I will be going through radiation and chemo for 7 weeks. It will be uncomfortable but not really dangerous. Because of the treatment, the lining in my throat will be destroyed and will need time to re-generate. Not fun but I have a great support system. I'll be fine in the long run. Grouchy in the short run. (LAUGH)
