OK you all---Have you heard of the new robotic knee replacement that is good for 30 years and is plastic?  I understand that it doesn't have the old standard incision that other knee replacements have.

I understand it speeds healing and that I will be able to go upstairs within 72 hours.

I sure hope it is that good because I'm getting the thing on Dec. 1.

I sound like Problems and Solutions!   I must have lived in Bloomington!

Linda

Linda, I wish you good fortune and fast healing with your replacement surgery. It sounds like the doctors have made significant improvement in the parts and procedure.

So, it's good for 30 years? Imagine rocking&rolling on refreshed knees at 100! There may be some difficulty finding a partner. Perhaps you'll find a 80 year old youngster?

Seriously.......keep us informed and best wishes!

Linda,

Best of luck with the replacement. Another side benefit is not setting off alarms at airports. Just wondering if this is one-size-fits-all or custom made? It is possibe to get a 3D scan and have your own knee duplicated. Hope you'll be able to toss the cane in time for Christmas.

Remember Jerry Collins?

Linda, sorry to hear about your surgery, but maybe you'll be running marathons in a few weeks.

Good luck,

love ya and prayers,  🙏🏻🙏🏻

Suz

Linda Bristow (Elias)

Mel:  No, I don't remember Jerry Collins.

Suzi:  No marathons for this girl.   Living in the desert and running...........that is for other people.  No way in heck would that be me.

I'll just be happy to be able to exercise normally with walking fast, Pilates, and Yoga.

Love to all, Linda

Linda,

I asked about Jerry Collins, because he was the host of WJBC's "Problems and Solutions" most of the years we were growing up. Why teenagers ever tuned-in is a modern mystery. My excuse is that his backyard was next to ours. He was a terrific guy. I loved growing up in Bloomington, except for one detail, I always tell people, "I never grew up, but I was raised there." And that's the truth!

Linda Bristow (Elias)

Mel:

My mother tuned into WJBC because of Problems and Solutions.  Her younger sister drove her bonkers when she would call in.  When other people couldn't get their calls answered, she always got through... much to the disdain of the family.  We were always afraid of what she was going to say next.

Being raised doesn't mean anyone is all grown up.  The adult mind kicks in at about 25.  Youthful thinking for life, however, is a blessing upon our outlook for life!  We have plenty of time to act old.  Youthful thinking adds to the zest for one's life and for all of those around them.  Good luck being a young thinking, slightly aging, interesting kook!   Isn't it grand?

Linda

Atta boy Mike!

Happy birthday!  Have some more of those vitamins that are disguised as cake and ice cream!   It does give us a boost in life.  Hmmmmm.  Maybe 70 more?

Blessings to you.

Thanks Linda.

You and I are on the same page when it comes to knowing what's important in life and realizing our true priorities. There are so many examples of events in my life that I thought were so important. Today, I am able to see those events a little more clearly. They never really amounted to that much in the grand scheme of life. Aging isn't all that bad. It brings us an opportunity to gain tremendous wisdom, along with not being so bashful about expressing our love of family and friends. What else is there that could be any more important?

gotta be a few Cub fans in this class:

"don't let anyone tell you that it's just a game ....."

Maybe you've seen this, if not you should.

Don't worry Steve, you're not alone. I posted this composite photo of my granddaughter on my FB page a couple of days ago. Maybe others will get a kick out of it as well. I watched every minute of every game and over 4 hours of the celebration on TV today, even though I live close enough to Grant Park to hear the crowd and confetti cannons. Don't like the big crowds, estimated by the City of Chicago to have been 5 million people.

Go Cubs, Go!!! (FYI, I'm also a White Sox fan.)

So that's your grand daughter. Congratulations Mel. She is precious!

Steve, there are a lot of baseball fans that just don't understand how enormous that Cubs victory is. We had to wait our whole lives and suffer many broken hearts before we were able to celebrate. So, yes........It's huge. You had to be a life-long Cub fan to even begin to understand. This championship is for all of those fans that never were able to experience their dream!      GO CUBS GO
