Linda Bristow (Elias)

Hmmmm.  The number of my age doesn't bother me at all!   At this time of my life.....I just don't want the number of my age to match the number of inches around my hips!

I am amazed at what a creature of habit I have become.  I like my morning newspaper........and not online.  I want to glance over it with coffee and then work the puzzles.  I even enjoy being able to fold it to just right for working the puzzles.  Perhaps the 'spoiled American' is coming out of me!  This morning the paper was late and I went to work without it.  Now, I'm having 'newspaper withdrawal'!

Is it our age, boredom, or creature of habit?  My preference is not to just exist until I die, but to live until I die.   If I can make a difference for those around me........I'm happy.

70....That's just a low speed here in Texas where we have one highway that allows 85 mph!!!!!!!

I'm ready for 70!

Happy day to y'all!

Linda

I did the 70 thing last August. It is just a number. It only means I survived 70 years and counting. I am sure someday I will hit 90 and that one might seem different. :)

Mike...

I hit the 7-0 back in December and I got a card that I really thought was appropriate.  It had a badge in it that said,

"I am 18 with 52 years of experience!"

I think age is just a state of mind... you are only as old as you want to be.  I don't want to be 70, therefore I am not!

Milan...

I don't think I ever want to be 90.

Max

Max, I wasn't ever sure I wanted to be 75 but I am having second thoughts. :)

Great feedback.

I won't reach the 70 milestone until October 28. (By God's grace) That said.......I'm starting to feel a lot younger than I did a few days ago. Perhaps it really is a state of mind?

GO YOU RAIDERS!

Classmates,

You can talk all you want about wanting to be or not wanting to be 70, but  let's face it, being 70 beats the hell out of the other alternative.

Mike, is this a runon sentence?  Mr.Whitlow would probably flunk me for it.

Long live the '64 Raiders!!!!!!

Steve

Michael (Mike) Franks

Steve, I remember Mr. Whitlow. I enjoyed that English class. There was a lot of silliness, but oh what fun we had. I doubt you'd flunk. He may have given you a task to write a report from "Elements of Style".

Hey, this is 2016. Slang is the new grammar! Now I'm learning that 70, is the new 40!

Roger Whitlow was one of my favorite teachers back in high school.  Considered becoming an English teacher because of him, but chose industrial arts teaching instead.

I never had Edmonds or Whitlow, but I adored Lorraine Kraft and Elizabeth Stein who inspired me to be more than I ever dreamed possible. We were all, and I'm not exaggerating one ounce, we were all lucky beyond belief to have such mentors.

70 is just a number! But 100 dare to dream bigcool

Michael (Mike) Franks

Victor, I think that 100 might be stretching it just a little. At 69, I still fell a little frisky, but I suppose I'm dreaming? I'm way too old to climb in the back seat of a Mustang while snipe hunting, but the memory is still a thrill!  These days, even my old cat ignores me.
