I have always been using the font 'comic sans ms,Arial' 

when writing on this site.  Annie Bailen told me that

it was frilly.  I thought she was pulling my leg.  It 

doesn't look like that on my computer at all.  Just used

my phone for the first time and see what she meant.

From now on I will use this font.  This is so embarrassing!

Max, I like 'comic sans ms,Arial'. Why would you fell embarrassed? I think I would feel more embarrassed when I realized that I was worried about other people thought. I gave that up in Jr. High.

GET REAL MIKE. Unlike you and me, those track and wrestling stars have to protect their Machismo Image. Max still has that athletic swagger and it infiltrates everything he does, even his choice of typogrphy. As for Annie's criticism, guess she still sees him running laps and pinning his opponents. Come on Max, show us your flowery handwriting. It's OK if it has little hearts dotting the 'I's. Love you guys. Keep the laughs coming.

I like what Comic Sans looks like on my computer, but not what it looks like on my phone.  Not sure why it changes from one to the other.  I'm not macho, Mel.  Just don't like the hard to read type like that.  Would be great for a wedding invitation though!  Thanks for sticking up for me Mike.

OK, Mike is absolutely right. Thanks for correcting me, Max. That makes me feel a lot better. It is likely that your phone doesn't have the same font in its library as your computer and defaults to the nearest one it finds. For this site there are only nine possible fonts, so we are very limited. Anyway, I really didn't mean it about you being macho. You're a real down to earth guy and anyone who knows you knows that.

Max, as you can see, I'm going to use 'comic sans ms,Arial' from now on. Two reasons. I like it and it's a great way to support an old Lincoln School friend.

Thank you Mel and Mike. I'm honored by the support!   But I have a question... when you are both using it now, it appears just like the font it is intended to be.  Not sure how it appears on the website when I use it.  If it appears the same, I would use it.  But if it appears like 'wedding invitation script' like when I see it on my phone, I'm not using it... way too hard to read.  Maybe it's just Annie's phone/notebook/tablet/computer that changes it.  If so, how does it appear to others? I'm back to comic sans ms,Arial! 

Think we need to change this website up a bit... the last 8 entries we have 3 guys talking about type styles.  There has to be someone out there with something better to talk about.  Input anyone?  Anyone?

Max, I'm getting back to normal here. As an 'old' graphic designer, typography is very important to me. So, I love that you are questioning it. You are no doubt experiencing default fonts between your smart phone, computer and other digital gear. That is a common problem. I've copied a flattened image of your last post so you can see it as others see it, before it goes into default font. I can assure you it is not script, it is as it implies sans serif. Hope that helps. And I totally agree that we can now move on to other things.

Speaking of which, Suzi, just for you I'll pull for the Panthers, only because I don't really care who wins. What I care about is your health and it sounds like you're doing much better, which makes me VERY HAPPY!!!

Mel, thanks but I still have not had radiation.  It will be a couple more weeks because I haven't healed completely.

I will have 33 treatments.  I'm going to ready for a vacation to someplace warm and sunny.

Suzi, I didn' know the results of your tests from a few weeks ago and was hoping you would be over this hump when they came. You are very much on my mind and I wish you great strength when the treatments start. You've got a great team behind you and we'll be here to support and cheer you on. Thanks for that post, but it already looks that way on my computer.  I used to teach graphic arts and we spent some time discussing type styles.  There, I'm done discussing fonts and it feels complete now that Annie has weighed in on the subject.

Cancer center just called and I start treatments tomorrow.  I will be having 36 instead of 33 because I have to have 8 boost instead of 5.  Fun times will begin!!  Not...I'm just glad to be alive.  I definitely will be ready for a vacation.
