Nothing I can say will make anyone feel better after such a loss. But Billie and I lost a baby in his 9th month. We only planned to have one child. A year and half later my daughter was born. That was in 1981. Every time I look at my wonderful daughter, I understand a little more about life and happiness. They will get past this pain someday. God be with them.

Hi Suzi, we are not directly affected by the flood which is good. We had two days where we couldn't access the highway by our house so we had to go out of our way a little but nothing bad. So many people have lost their homes. It is just a mess! Feel so bad for all of those people? Will be thinking about you on the 6th. Here is to hoping no more surgery!

David,

Years ago when I was a volunteer EMT, on my very last call ( we had moved away), I took care of a 9 year old boy who died in ER.. He was a friend of my children and it tore me up.. Long story short, I contacted a pastor to unburden my grief... his words were..." God in his wisdom, grants each of us a full life. For some that life is measured in decades, for others, in minutes, or seconds, but each life is full and complete..."

Hugo's life was, in God's eyes, full and complete..

Ed,, What a thoughtful message you sent to David.   Many years ago we lost our 9 year old son, it was a very difficult time, but messages like yours are what I feel everyone needs to hear.

Melvin (Mel) Theobald

Dave, Jan and Ed,

You have opened your hearts to all of us in such a way that gives added importance to everything we as friends, neighbors and family (yes, we alumni are a family) are about. What Ed said reminded me of a book once assigned by Lorraine Kraft at good old BHS. For some reason it has always resonated with me and I'd like to suggest revisiting it because it is so relevant to what you are expressing and have been through. "The Bridge Over San Luis Rey" by Thornton Wilder. It is still a very meaningful story after all these years because it attempts to explain why a seemingly accidental event is actually the fulfillment of five lives, one an infant.

Dave, my thoughts are with you and your family and I am pleased beyond measure to be a member of this great group with whom you have chosen to share those difficult feelings. And that goes for Suzi who has entrusted all of us with her own battle. Everyone goes through tough times, but it is so much better if we go through them together.

With love, hope for good health and peace in 2016, Happy New Year to all my classmates of 1964.

Mel,

Sorry, I'm afraid after 50 years I can't put a name with any of them.  Could you help me out?

Michael (Mike) Franks

Thanks Mel.

I recognize Steve Jetton and Kenny Lehr, but the others have come up blank. Good to see a post from Steve. I agree that 50 years is a very long time and that we have all moved on with our lives.

I'm aware that a lot of people read the postings on our site. There are a few of our classmates that are struggling with serious issues. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

GO YOU RAIDERS!

Nancy Weaver (Cupp)

No clue.  I don't remember anyone, except the Theobalds.  I was only there for my senior year, so didn't grow up with anyone, or make lasting friends, since I moved away again after a few years.

Yes Suzi, you get an A+. I guess it helped that you were there as evidenced in this photo of you with Diane Gardner. Year in Review No. 2.

Steve and Nancy, I totally agree with Mike, it is good to hear from you and all the others who hop in here from time to time. Of course Steve is probably right about that memory thing, because obviously, everyone looks exactly the same as they did in 1964. :-) And Nancy, you may not remember the others, but they remember you. And your great dad, Rev. Weaver, who gave the benediction at graduation.

Sorry, but I just can't resist the temptation of this one. Sure, she has changed, but Pam Zweng is as beautiful, smart and classy as ever. Year in Review No. 3.

Dianne Shaffer (Troxel)

Suzi I am praying and sending good thoughts your way today.  Its amazing how cancer effects so many lives.  Roger's 3 daughters have the Brca gene.  Middle daughter had breast cancer at 32 went through double masectomy and hysterectomy and chemo almost 6 years ago (found it herself).  Now his youngest who is 35 has found irregular masses in breasts and has scheduled the same surgeries in 8 weeks.  Please pray that they find no cancer as she can pass on the chemo if they don't find any.  The oldest (40) has had hysterectomy 2 years ago and they monitor her every 3 months.  These are young women and it's very rare to have 3 sisters with Brca gene.  They are using them in test study at Baylor in Ft. Worth.  Roger is not the carrier as he was tested. I suggest that even the guys out there do monthly checks as I know of a number of men who have had breat cancer too. The good news is that the girls being pro active can live long lives and someday see their kids grow into adults.  Hang in there Suzi...be strong....kick this cancers butt!

Suzi:

Praying for the guidance of your surgeon to be accurate and make good decisions while you are under anesthesia today!  Praying that the surgeon eradicates all questionable cells while he is in there!

Love ya, Linda
