Necia, next year will be just another number like this year. Take my word for it. :)

Necia, dear friend.  If life is a gift, we need to enjoy it.  It's only a matter of attitude.  We need to enjoy each day as we can and learn to celebrate everything that comes along!   I don't care what the numbers may be.  I care about seeing old friends, making new friends, family, adventures, what I might be able to do for others,..........etc.

Love and best wishes!

Linda

Nice talking to you for your birthday!   Here is that recipe for hot fudge sauce.  I use it for ice cream, or as a drizzle for cakes and whatever else I wish!  (It is a French recipe.)

In a saucepan with a wood spoon,

1 cup of milk

3/4 cup of white sugar

3 rounded Tablespoons of cocoa

Stirring constantly on medium heat, in 17 - 20 minutes it thickens and flows perfectly.  You must make sure you stir until 20 minutes.   (Otherwise it might turn to sugar while it is being stored)

NOTE:  There isn't any vanilla in it.

This has the best taste of any fudge sauce I've ever found.   When I make homemade Ice crream, people go nuts for this sauce.

Love ya, Lindaangel

Thank you for that post, Bristow.  Recipe sounds better than anything you could buy at the store.

I hope you enjoy it for many years to come.   Everything I make doesn't have preservatives.  I prepare everything organic, if possible.  But that is a simple recipe, that we can hand down to our kids.  Even my oldest grandson can make it when he has friends over.  His friends think he can really cook!  He tells his friends that his grandma won't make it and send it to him, so .... he had to learn how to make it.

That's an improvement from what his father called me when he was a teenager! ( it was Little Hitler)

Love ya, Bristow

Happy August 1....tomorrow.  I am refraining from writing on here for a while.   It is everyone's turn to communicate.   So sorry I have been a blabber mouth.  Too many posts have my name on it.  But, it seems as though when I write ..........it takes a while before anyone else uses the message forum.  What the hell?

Linda

Very proud that my aunt, Velma Arnold, is being nominated for the BHS Hall of Fame on September 17, 2015.  In 1941 she founded the Health Services at Wesleyan University and served as its director until 1971.  The Illinois Wesleyan Board of Trustees honored her in 1987 by dedicating it as the Velma J. Arnold Health Service.

Theobalds:  Happy birthday to you both!

T. Troxel:  Thanks for the alert to see your photos!  Your granddaughter is beautiful!  Enjoy her!

D. Fitzsimmons Price and S. Ford Chambers:  Thank you for the alert to your photos.  I enjoyed seeing the two of you together!

Dave Harvey Wellman:  Thank you for including me about your photos.  That electric bike and building....cool.   You probably should meet my son-in-law Max Reed just north of Boulder but south of Lonmont!   Similar interests.  You would be surprised at what he does!

Here's hoping you all have a beautiful week!  Thanks for the interaction.............you all!

Love ya, Linda

Terry inspired me to find and post some photos.

I have the exact picture of us next to that large buoy in Key West, but of course couldn't find it.

All the best..........Harv

Those are great photos!  How did you enjoy Greece, Peru, Croatia, and New Zealand?  The bike that you're on is new.....is it electric also?   As you pedal is there an electric motor that turns on when you need it?  How does it work?

Love ya, Linda

Thank you for all of the birthday wishes.  Mel was in Bloomington from Friday to Sunday.  We have a family reunion the first Sunday in August every year and Mel was in town for it.  I need to point out a couple of corrections to previous posts.  Since we were born in August, Mel has decided our names should be Augie and Gus.  Since he was born first, I dubbed him Augie.  Augie and I turned 138 this year.  That is a result of so often being asked how old we are and you know you almost never get a straight answer from us.

The next celebration for Augie and me is the big 140.  It is hard to compehend!  Seems as if we were all teenagers a few short years ago.  The clock is ticking way too fast.  I often tell younger people "inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened".  It is so true.

For those who have yet to tumble, keep those 69's coming.

I did not know Cathy as long as Julie, but, did know her from second grade on. I will always feel that she was always one of the nicest people I have ever known.  It is a great loss to lose her.
