Mel...

I didn't say that I couldn't do it, only that I am not going to do it.  Was in Upper Michigan for a few days last week and I climbed enough stairs... like hundreds, while hiking, to remind me that I don't have to do that anymore if I don't want to.  As Ed put it..."I can now do whatever I damn well please!"  The knees are fine but the quads sure burned on some of those climbs last week.

Max, what a load off my mind. I was afraid it had something to do with old age. You and Ed clearly have the same philosophy. Makes me jealous...but wait....that's my philosophy, too. Guess we'll have to find out what Dave thinks. Being a Marine and all, he may not take this lightly. You guys are the best.

Happy Birthday Marv and Mel.  Just a note for those touring the High School... Lots of changes, lots of things are still the same. But take note that the seniors now have their own separate lunch room and the lobby has flat screens just in case you get bored on your way to class.

Vicki Keller (Leary)

I would also like to say Happy Birthday Mel and Marv and thank you for all you have done to keep our class in touch with one another.  I am looking forward to seeing all of you.

another Butkus sighting, eh?  The old fart looks happy to be with a couple of good looking younger chicks.

Bribery involved?

Agency sent them.  50% off on 4 hours for two.  I asked for English speaking, good conversationalists who tell me I don't look anything like Butkus or a day over 50, that they don't eat or drink too much and have an IQ higher than the temperature of the day.

Amazing that you asked for all of those requirements and they still sent Annie!!!  LOL

Max, there was an availability problem because of the 50% off special, so she was a compromise.

Are you coming to the 50th reunion?   Come join me!  Let me know if you can come.

Melvin (Mel) Theobald

Linda, I love the message you sent to Sharon and want to second it.

To Sharon and all the others, IT ISN'T TOO LATE TO SIGN UP FOR THE REUNION. I understand that we are well over the goal of 120 reserved, but there's room for everyone. Some of us have offered to help those in need of rides and the planning committee has received annonymous gifts to assist those who have physical or financial issues. This 50th Reunion Celebration is only going to happen once and you are all part of why it is special. PLEASE COME IF YOU CAN.

P.S.  To all of you who were so thoughtful, a heartfelt thank you for the birthday wishes. They are much appreciated.

Of the 120, how many are classmates and how many spouses (or significant others)?

08/07/14 05:06 PM #4574

Marvin Theobald

Thank you all for the bitrthday wishes.  Mel was with me and we celebrated Sunday after a family reunion by having cake and homeade icecream while cruising on the pontoon boat.

There are curently 127 planning to be at the reunion of which 78 are classmates. Several more are still thinking about coming.  It looks as if about 80 to 90 will be at the Friday gathering and over 55 at the Sunday brunch. The high school tour wil be well attended but we have no indication as to how many plan to be there.

There is still time to get in on the celebration if you have not yet sent your RSVP. We are still hoping for perfect attendance.

Happy 50th Reunion to the Class of 1964. Had many friends in your class and enjoyed our time together all those years ago. Especially those who went to Sheridan, Lincoln, Emerson, Oakland grade schools as well as Washington junior high and BJHS. Man that's a lot of schools in just a few years. Have a great time next weekend.

Wow fifty years, where did those years go?  I'm sorry more are not coming, but it will be great seeing everyone who is coming.

I am not really bored, but some recent forum posts have aroused my curiosity regarding the use of our website. As a Site Administrator I have access to some statistical info that I thought might be fun to share with all of you.  Some of this was readily available and some of it took a spreadsheet to sort out.

Listed classmates and guests: 293

Classmates that have joined the website: 161 (54.9% per website data)

Number of classmates and guests that have logged in -

  Since 2009: 172

  Since Jan 2014: 126

  Since Jun 2014: 113

  Last 3 days: 72

Classmates attending the 50th Reunion that have never logged in: 8

Personal messages posted in the past year: 243

Message Forum posts since 2009: 4,582

Home Page visitors since 2009: 52,643 (that is correct, a whopping 52,643)

It is great to see so much activity. It would be even greater to see more Message Forum Posts. We have had 72 different "lookers" in the past 3 days and only 5 Forum postings. Let us know what you are up to.

The Reunion attendance total is now at 80 classmates and 130 attendees.

IT IS ALMOST HERE!!!  LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING ALL OF YOU THIS WEEKEND!

I have it on good authority that Jim, the leader of the Pierce Gang (refer to post #4573), will be attending the reunion events. He and his "gang" have long ago gone straight and Jim has infact put in a great many hours of community service dedicated to the BHS Class of '64. He has been completely rehabilitated since 1964.  The biggest threat he poses is a hello hug ... so be on your guard.  Thanks for the post Dave, but I wanted to let people know they have nothing to fear form this reformed fugitive.
