Marie was always petite and cute and lots of fun too! She was good friends with Connie Hauskins, Barbara Gail Rinkenberger, Jim Julian, Marty Houghman, Bob Marsh (Toad) and more not coming to mind right now! I'm fairly certain that's the Marie Hill I knew, but have lost track of.

Mel and I cut a tree limb from above Judy Neals house this week to avoid a potential future disaster.  The limb was about 10" in diameter, 40 ft long and 30 ft up.  I was on the ladder with a chain saw and Mel was on the ground manning the rope to catch the falling limbs.  The pictures below tell the story.  If you ever need serious help don't ask an artist for assistance.

Larger concern might have been which of those limbs from the top picture did Mel think he was going to catch?

Mel and Marv, you guys are definately living on the limb! BE CAREFUL!

Looks like Rembrandt Tree Surgeons at your service!  Judy, have you gotten an estimate yet on the cost to patch the hole and re-shingle the roof?!

There was an Irvin Hill who lived at the corner of Clayton and Jefferson in the 50's. His daughters were Linda June, Mary Kay, and Susan Hill

Happy belated birthday, Milan.  Gene Zoll is everywhere......for a guy I  thought I hadn't seen in 50 years, he sure pops up in a lot of my pictures.  I'm guessing he was at your party.

Milan - A belated happy birthday to you.  Thank you for all you do for our class and for the community.  We are far better off because of your efforts.

The tree limb was cut in sections that were manageble.  The sections were all successfully caught by rope and lowered to the ground with no mishaps or roof damage.  Our part time tree service business does not have much a future thanks to Mel's "stragulation".  He caught the limb but we can't get that look off of his face.  Would you hire someone to trim your tree after seeing a picture like that?  Maybe we should consider other business opportunities such as packing parachutes, elevator cable repairs, automotive brake repair, or skyscraper window washing.  What could go wrong?

Mel,

For what it's worth, (Buffalo Springfield) Kathy and I will be at Lake Tahoe the 17th getting storm doors installed and stacking our winter supply of firewood.  Talk about life on the edge!

Marv/Mel,

This is a case of a picture being worth 10,000,000 words. It needs to be prominetly displayed on the 17th.... maybe 3' x 4'  ..

I will see y'all then

Saw Jim  Pierce who works at Sam'sClub and reminded him of our mini reunion and it turns out he did not know.

So remind everyone you see!

Melvin (Mel) Theobald

You know Jerry, that's a really lame excuse...may I suggest that for the next mini-reunion you hire me and Marv to install your windows for entertainment, invite everyone to Lake Tahoe and take advantage of Max's discount coupon all at the same time. See how beneficial that would be. A real win-win for the Class of 64.

Annie, I'm with you on that. Get the word out. See you all on Sat.

Thanks for your thoughts Suzi! The town of Manitou Springs, where we live, is covered in mud, and the Gov. of CO. visited today. Sounds as though he's approving funding to help with the clean up! No less than 20 businesses have lost everything due to all the mudslides. 3 lives have been lost due to drownings. One home was washed away and several other homes have been damaged! They say we can expect 9 more years of mudslides due to the aftermath from the fires last year and also this year! We live in the foot hills, therefore only received down pouring rains in short periods of times so feel fortunate with living where we do! Today has been the first day that Hwy. 24 was not closed down for a few hours during rains in more than a week, so hopefully things are starting to subside!

Helen,

We'll be thinking about you when we get together for the mini-reunion tomorrow. As always, thanks for letting us know you are OK. I wish the same were true for all the others you described.

Suzi, hope you'll be joining us tomorrow night at Gill Street.
