Linda,

Dave's appointment went good.  He doesn't have go back for four weeks.   The nurse comes out to the house twice a week to draw blood and get his vitals.  They will be doing that for about another 4 to 6 weeks.

Shelbee:

We had horses for my children down here in El Paso.   When they started driving cars the horses were no longer as fun to 'drive'.

Yes........all of the reunions are in Bloomington.   I hope that you'll be able to show up next year!  I think you'll be very pleased with the class as a whole!   Some of us have grown up, and ..........others never will!   But that's okay!  That is what we're all about when you refer to a group as large as our's.

I personally need to grow up instead of ...out....!

Love ya, Linda

Vic, that is an interesting tid bid on marriage. IMO, that pretty much sums up life. What you put into it, is directly proportional to the rewards you may receive. I remember reading that years ago on the men's room wall of the Wareco station, corner of Oakland and Clinton. (along with a few phone numbers)

Happy March to all of you.  Linda sent me a note to get on the forum and check it out.  Nice to see that conversations are ongoing and nice to know about what everyone is doing.  Alittle update on how Roger and I are doing since our May 2012 motorcycle accident.  Roger is back to work with the Bloomington Fire Dept. since the end of August and doing the things he loves.  He plays bagpipes for the IAFF Honor Guard and also for Prairie Thistle Pipes and Drums and is looking forward to St. Patricks Day at McGuires both Saturday and Sunday.  As for me I am still in the healing process but am doing well considering where I was back in May.  I am so looking forward to Spring and Summer as I feel I missed both last year.  Keep smiling and enjoy the moment.  Life is sweet!

Diane, it's so good hearing from you! Haven't seen your happy face in years! It's good knowing you're recooperating from the motorcycle accident and are so sorry you had to endure all that you have experienced! We hope you're planning to attend our 50th Class Reunion in 2014! It will be fun for everyone to catch up with one another, however this site is one way to stay in touch for now! My best to you!

Our winter in Hemet, CA, has been wonderful! We plan to travel to San Francisco to take in as many sites as time allows before heading back to Manitou Springs, CO., on April 1. We wish you much health and happiness!

Helen,

We'll wave as we drive by. (So to speak)  Headed for a week in Palm Desert to get in some golf, swimming and hiking.

Jerry,

Spring is around the corner and golf is obviously on the minds of some of you. I haven't been on a golf course since high school, but I still like a good joke now and then. So this is for you.

Leavin in the morning for Alabama. I will spend a few days with family, then it is on to Texas. I am going to Tyler where i will have a reunion with 3 close friends from my Houston days. We have kept in contact over the years, but have not been in the same room together since summer 1963 before I moved from Houston to Bloomington

this is gonna be fun

I just learned that Bill Rusk died on September 10, 2009. The Pantagraph archives have no information on it. I hear he passed away with no wife or kids. He was a good guy. Ate many lunches with him and Dan Woodard at BHS. I will see what I can do to find information but it is true. I have found that much for sure. He was born May 3, 1946.

My phone and Internet have been down for several days, now that I can check in, I see all this terrible news. That is another reason this website is so important. Thanks to everyone who keeps updating us.

Can someone tell me what is going on with Carol and Alan? I see the prayers but no mention of what this is about.

Bill Rusk was one of my best friends in H.S. We were in touch for many years afterwards. He had surgery for prostate cancer about 15 years ago, don't know if that had any connection, but like so many, he was way too young. I know he had an older sister, whom I don't think ever married, and that his parents died sometime ago. They were his only immediate family. He was very bitter after a broken marriage. After leaving the police dept. he became somewhat of a loner and was very hard to reach. We had some wild times way back when and I still laugh at all the crazy situations we got into, especially those involving his Vauxhall car. We were building the homecoming float at Marcia Rodwell's on Sunset Dr. when Bill thought it would be fun to pack as many people as possible inside, then drive in reverse all the way around the Sunset and Empire loop. He was wonderfully crazy. I've been missing him for many years and am very sad with this news.
