Milan:   Did I say something that made you think that I think you live on a farm?   I was referring to the Poor Farm.

Thanks for the info.

Linda

Steve, the detective, said he was on his way to see another historian on his farm. That was me and I don't own a farm nor live on one. Just another slant of the show that wasn't true. :)

Linda, you didn't say anything.  No worries. :)

Linda, we are not home yet.  We are hoping to get home after his visit with doctors on Wednesday.  Even if they say he can go home it will depend on the weather.  The weather forecast says snow, rain & sleet.  I will be driving and I'm not looking forward to driving in bad weather.  So we shall see!

Suzi, you might want to wait until Saturday. After all, home will still be there and don't take a lot of chances in bad weather. We all know you want to get home as soon as you can but not at the cost of having problems.

Milan is giving good advice!   If you absolutely have to go home you might think about the train!

Take good care!

We made it home!!  Dave and I got home around 5:30 last night and I'm sure glad we came home when we did.

Dave had a doctors appointment yesterday and the doctor came back in with the pathologist report.  He had another small cancerous growth on his liver so we really made the right choice.  We go back to St. Louis next Wednesday so they can take the staples out.  He has about 45 staples, och when they take them out.

Congrats on the liver!   Happy you're home safely!  But......I'm keeping the prayers coming until Dave is released by the doctor!

Love ya, Linda

P.S.  I see Holly is logged on.  Hi Holly!

Fellow classmates: I received this today and enjoyed it.  I hope you will too!

YOU HAVE TO HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR!

On their wedding night, the young bride approached her new husband and asked for $20 for their first lovemaking encounter.  In his highly aroused state, her husband readily agreed.  This scenario was repeated each time they made love, for more than 40 years, with him thinking that it was a cute way for her to afford new clothes and other incidentals that she needed.

Arriving home around noon one day, she was surprised to find her husband in a very drunken state.  During the next few minutes he explained that his employer was going through a process of corporate downsizing, and he had been let go.

It was unlikely that, at the age of 59, he'd be able to fnd another position that paid anywhere near what he'd been earning, and therefore, they were financially ruined.  Calmly, his wife handed him a bank book which showed more than forty years of steady deposits and interest totaling nearly $1 million.   Then she showed him certificates of deposits issued by the bank which was worth over $2 million, and informed him that they were one of the largest depositors in the bank.

She explained that for more than four decades she had 'charged' him for sex and these holdings had multplied and these were the results of her savings and investments.  Faced with evidence of cash and investments worth over $3 million, her husband was so astounded he could barely speak, but finally he found his voice and blurted out " If I'd had any idea what you were doing, I would have given you ALL my business!"

That's when she shot him.

You know, sometimes, men just don't know when to keep their mouths shut!

Women are like phones:  They like to be held, talked to, and touched often.   But push the wrong button and your ASS is disconnected!

Hi Linda!  I have been flying under the radar the last few months.  Keeping busy with family (especially the twins), visiting relatives from Texas, Colorado, and North Carolina and fulfilling my volunteer responsibilities (I am rather over committed at the moment).  I have to learn how to say NO.  I haven't had the chance to catch up with anyone.  Hopefully, things will calm down a bit in the next 10 days and I can rejoin you more often!

In the meantime, it is good to hear people getting good reports from the doctors!  And everyone moving on in this new year.  I promise to be a better communicator soon!

Holly:

Boy am I glad you're back!  I know what you mean about volunteerism.  It was enjoyable to do but you can overdo!  There are only so many hours in the day.   I just finished my last one at the end of Dec. for the Historical Soc.  Completed volunteer mediation for the county DRC and the Juvenile Detention Center too!  Guard your time......it is so precious.  We're all here on borrowed time but we might as well live each day as though its a gift!  I always say its a good day when I wake up early and I'm on the top side of the grass!

Enjoy the twins!

Love ya, Linda

Marvin and Victor have way too much time on their hands!  It's got to be "cabin fever". 23 more days until Spring.

Don't you think their posts are better than this site sitting idle?  Fun things to provoke thought might allow people to not be so 'up tight' about posting on OUR site.   It is for all of us!   I love to see it being used.  Besides......if others use it more I won't feel compelled to come up with something.   I have been on it way tooooooo much lately.  I wish the class could feel more comfortable just conversing on this venue to all of us or singling out someone.

Linda

Based on the calculator in the link below I have until 2038 to finish everything I have left to do.  I hope all of you guys plan to be there to see me off.  Until then I guess I need to keep doing stuff like my previous post to fill in my time.  Sooo Mike, maybe I do have too much time on my hands.  Hope it made you smile.

Maybe we should all post our calculator results and see how many we should be planning on attending our 75th class reunion.  Check out the calculator.  It is pretty cool.

Watch your age in the upper right corner! COMES IN ABOUT QUESTION 3
Kinda fun to watch your age go up and down as you answer the questions.

It was developed by Northwestern Mutual Life. It's interesting that there are only 13 questions. Yet, they can predict how long you're likely to live.

No offense Marv, but I'm not real sure I WANT to live till I am 90..

As a matter of fact, yes Marvin it did make me smile. Thanks be to you and Victor, for being creative. I think that being silly once in a while is a good thing.

I agree, Linda. I'd love to hear from a lot more of our classmates. It really isn't important what we may or may not have accomplished in our journey. I'm just glad that my journey continues.

Victor:

Those are the dates of our children being born.   However, when my chidren were very small, we had an incident that made me be very wary of my kids being anywhere without me.

I experienced a situation as follows:

His spouse filed for a divorce and he came after her attorney's family (us).  Thank goodness I had that door locked.  It was all I could do with 2 little kids hanging on my legs, and a third on the way, to lock the inside door too and call 911.   It all worked out well but I made sure that I took my kids to and from school.  Amazingly, we were able to make sure that our kids learned a lot of 'street smarts' out of necessity.

Of course,  living here on the border we have the need to be extra vigilent also!

Linda
