I am extremely saddened upon hearing of Sandy's passing. With a heavy heart, I express my condolences to Sandy's family and close friends. I raise her up in prayer.  I ask that God have mercy upon Sandy and I pray for her salvation.

I am so sorry to learn of Sandy's passing...

From the time Malinda was diagnosed until her death, Sandy would regularly ask me how we were doing. It was apparent that this was not just a perfunctory question, but she really cared..

Jack and Milan, I had the exact same conversation with her..

I hadn't been on the site for a few days and seems I missed alot.

Ed, so sorry to hear of Malinda's passing but we know that she is now free of pain and is at peace!!  I so like your out look of not being afraid of dying.  If we really have faith we should all be looking forward to it.  Please know that you and your family are in my prayers.

Sorry to hear of Sandy's passing.  Seems like we are losing too many to soon!!!!  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

I'm very sad to hear about Sandy. She was totally gung-ho about all the reunion activities and keeping everyone engaged with each other. It is a great pleasure to know so many of you were in touch with her. There is no doubt that many of us have long lasting and meaningful friendships that go beyond this web site. Sandy championed those feelings as much as anyone and it makes me happy to know that so many of you were able to be there for her. This is a sad day, knowing we have lost yet another of our classmates who cared so passionalely about all of us.

Has anyone spoken to Dianne Shaffer Troxel lately to see how she is healing?

Milan, thank you for posting Sandy's Obituary! The Pantagraph and other newspapers are now joining in on a charge to link into the newspapers after a limited amount of connections, making access more difficult! Keeping us in touch is and will be a great help with keeping us up to date on things!

I get around the charge thing by using my Normal Public Library Card. They have the Pantagraph on line at no charge  :)

Just back from the visitation... 3.5 hrs of standing makes this old man feel ancient!

Biggest surprise ...Mel and Marv walked in! I was so happy to see them..

This class just blows me away!

Ed:

So pleased they could be there for you.   I'm sure there are many more of our class who wish they could have shown up too.

Our class is awesome and I'm glad you feel that way!   Many of us agree with you.

In another IM I missed, Victor Jackson is back in the hospital and will be operated on November 1.  "No fun" he says.  I have no further details.  Let's hope it works out.

Linda,

i left town last Wednesday after the funeral on Tuesday. I went to Florence, Alabama, my hometown to see some family that could not come to the funeral ( too old).

From there I went to Birmingham to see my close friend, Best Man, and Malinda's Pall Bearer and his wife..

From there to Panola, Alabama, the ancestral home of my grandmother's people and then to Jasper, Alabama, where I am right now to see some folks who could tell me about deafness in my father's family..

I amy go to Kentucky tomorrow to see a sister and then a  dear friend of Malinda's who also has cancer and has some surgery scheduled for this week..

I will most likely be home by the end of the week

Ed:

Good for you!  Smell some roses along the way!  You have really earned it!

Bet it is difficult to watch what you eat on this trip!   Or....is it a seafood trip?   Everything you see you eat!

Safe trip to ya.

Linda

I think I lost weight, but will find out next Tuesday.. official weigh in when I go back to class after a long absence due to Malinda being in Hospice and me not being able to leave her

Linda,

Thank you for asking.  We go to Barnes in St. Louis next week.  I'm assuming they will do a complete work up down there.  Dave is still listed at U of I in Chicago and if he stays with them he will probably get a transplant by January but we are not sure we want that right now.  Once you have the transplant you are on the medicine the rest of your life.  We will see what Barnes says next week.

Ed:   Good luck in class!  You were better than I would be!

Suzy:  Good luck to Dave at Barnes!

Love to all, Linda
