Milan Jackson

Here is a list Joan Pease found in her mother recipe box. I think it was from Franklin School. Denny Van Stienberg was killed in an accident where the entire family was lost. I knew all of these kids.

Malinda passed last evening. I have spent waay more time at a funeral home than I ever desired to.

Her decline was fast, so suffering was minimal, there was no pain, the boys were all here, and she is at peace..

I have believed all my life that there are worse things than dying... Her death reaffirmed this belief

Ed,

This is a great loss for all of us. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Malinda was a great fighter who will have to fight no more. Please let us know the memorial plans when you have them.

Ed, no words can express how difficult this must be for you and your family! Malinda was certainly a fighter, but you have so many great times to reflect back on together with all of your family! We're confident that Malinda will look down on all of you reflecting those same great memories! Bless you and your family!

Ed,

Just looked in and saw that Malinda has passed.

Despite the hardship, she had gotten a lot out of life since Amy first told me about the diagnosis, which seems like forever ago. She passed in a humane manner.

"I have believed all my life that there are worse things than dying... Her death reaffirmed this belief".

I couldn't agree more.

Mel, Et Al..

She is at the STAAB funeral home in Springfield, not to be confused with the STAAB-Polk FH in Chatham..

Visitation will be Monday from 4 until it is over..

Funeral services at 10:00 Tuesday AM and final graveside rites in the Virdem, Il cemetery, next to her parents immediately following the funeral..

Memorial in leiu of flowers (or anything else except bourbon and cigars) are to the Farmersville/Waggoner Ambulance Service...I started that service in 1976 and she was a volunteer EMT for a short while before we moved away. I am proud to say I was the first EMT in Farmersville, and was captain of the squad for 3 years

Ed,

I just checked in and read about Malinda.  You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.  I am glad that she did not linger and was able to enjoy this time with you and get out for the football game and car ride.  Hang in there!  You were a rock for her.

God bless,

Holly

Ed,

Thanks for posting the info. It gives all of us some direction in how we might be of use.

I'm sure it is of small consolation without Malinda at your side, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you my friend. May you have many more of them to keep those joyful memories and stories in play for your children and grandchildren. They are counting on you.

Ed-

You came into our BHS Class of ’64 full of charm and full of life and we loved having you in our lives as we still do.  Obviously you had the same impact on Malinda.  Even though she has had to go all too soon, we are still here and still love having you in our lives.  Your loss is a loss for all of us.  Nothing can make your loss any easier, but, as time passes your memories will turn to joyful reflections of the good times you had and will make you smile as you relive the best days of your life.  She will always be with you.

I heard through the grapevine that Sandy Hammond is having major health problems. From what I heard she went in to get a tumor removed and found her full of cancer. She doesn't have long. I hope this info is bogus but last time I saw Sandy, she was looking awful sick. Pray for her, folks.

Sandy Hammond Mchugh passed away at 4p.m. this afternoon. Arrangements are pending at Beck's

Memorial Home. Her dear friend Diane Gardner was able to see her and talk to her at the hospital this

morning. Let us all pray for her family.

Unreal.  Two months ago today exactly, she sent me an IM on FB which I missed until the next day.

I thought things were under control.

Jack, I had a very similar conversation with her. She was telling why she hadn't been at the Wednesday breakfast at Shannon's. She was going to come back after the stone removal.

Ann:

Thanks for letting us know about Sandy.  May the Good Lord grant her Peace and Serenity in Heaven.

I called Gardner to express my sympathy to her.

Love ya, Linda

Milan, yes, she used to send me poker chips and things like that on FB, and I was just wondering a couple of days ago why she stopped.  I thought she had her stone removed and that was it.  Had no idea things had progressed downward from that last conversation.

Jack, Sandy and I sent each other free spins in the slotomania game and it had been about a week sense I heard from her.  I didn't know she was sick.  I just hope she didn't suffer.
