I too would like to add my condolences to Mike and family.  Sue was such an awesome person and could make anyone laugh that was around her.  My heart, as well as many others, is saddened by our loss of her.

I am saddened to hear of Sue's passing. She and the Theobalds were the driving force behind me attending the '09 reunion and discovering/rediscovering all the friends I have here.

OMG..............can hardly believe the very sad news regarding Sue's passing!  I have so many good memories with her!  Too young to happen to such a great gal!  We shall never forget her great motto, "We only live once but if we do it right, once is enough!"  She had so much to offer and contribute to our class! We know we'll all meet again, but that doesn't replace her absence that we're all feeling right now!  God is carrying her family through this sad time and all of us too!  We love you Sue, until we all meet again! Hugs to the Class of 64, the ones who knew her and were close to her!

It is sad that we have lost Sue far too early.

Having said that, with limited information, I have had a gnawing feeling over the past 2-3 weeks that Sue felt trapped and wanted a release of her spirit.

Last night, I came home about 9:00 p.m., went to the computer and looked up the file for the battery of back and forth e-mails that Sue and I had just about exactly one year ago.  In those, she lamented the then declining state of this website and the class.  Why I did this, I do not know. This was unusual.  I then went to FB to see if Sue's daughter, Angie, had any posts.  I saw just "pray harder", posted moments earlier, and told Dee that I don't think Sue will make it through the night.

The human quest for freedom, real freedom, is strong.  Sue lived and died on her own terms.

RIP dear friend.

This is a very sad time for our class and Sue's family.  Judy if I was near you right now I would give you a big hug.  I remember the partys we had.  Lots of fun.

Are we sending flowers?  Please let me know if you need money.  I'll be gone till Sept 21 so please give my thoughts to Mike and family.  I will get a card in the mail.

My dear friend, sidekick and best buddy is now making the angels laugh. I will miss her in so many ways. I have spoken to Mike and Sharon (her sister-in -law) and she thought that arrangements will be for Thurs. or Friday. Will post when I know. I also spoke to Sue's dear friend Jerry at Jean's flower basket. This is where I ordered flowers and if you feel so inclined I think that Sue would like you to have Jerry make the arrangements.

Our dear friend Sue has been the foundation of the BHS Class of 64 and will be missed like no other.  Her loss will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.  It is hard to imagine the future without her smile, her leadership, her humor, her friendship, her loving support of the Class of 64.  She was truly a friend that was always there for all of us.

My heart felt sympathy goes out to Sue's family.  It is a very sad time, but, Sue left us with fond memories that we can all feel fortunate that we had the opportunity build with her.  She will forever be in our hearts and our memories.

Suzi,

Thanks for thinking about me...I could sure use that hug!!!  I'm having a very difficult time wrapping my thoughts around the fact that she's gone.  I just can't imagine not picking up the phone and saying we'll meet you and Mike at so & so for dinner, or getting on a cruise ship for our vacation without Sue & Mike being with us.  She's been in my life for over 50 years and I wouldn't have my daughter if it wasn't for Sue.  She introduced me to my first husband (I did forgive her for that) my daughter's father.  Sue always did say that my daughter Kara should be hers because Kara acts more like her than like me.  I will miss her so very much!!!

Ed, where do we send the money for flowers?

09/06/11 07:05 PM #1846

Jack Habich

Steve Jetton and I just made an executive decision with money that is not ours.

Would somebody from the Bloomington area who knows flowers please step forward (quickly) and order class flowers from Jerry at Jean's Flower Basket for Sue?   The bill can be sent to Steve Jetton, he will pay it from class funds (we have plenty) and we can settle up later to replenish some or all the money.

Hopefully, this will end some of everybody going in different directions and wondering where to send money.  Of course, if you prefer, you can still order your own personal flowers.

Cheryl Turner (Hitzner)

I just spoke with Jack and I will order the flowers from the class tomorrow morning from Jerry at Jean's Flower Basket.  I plan on having a purple & gold theme.  If anyone else has any ideas before tomorrow morning, please let me know.

Thanks for stepping up Cheryl, you're in.  Steve Jetton is the man with the money.  Bargain, but don't be cheap (which, of course, I don't think you are).

It's a sad day for our class.  My heart goes out to Mike, Angie, and Jeff.  And, I know this is a very difficult time for those of you (Judy, Ann, and others) who were very close to Sue.

Sue gave us all a great gift by driving the effort to bring many of us back together with our Raider classmates.   We were blessed to know her and will always remember.

Thank you Cheryl for stepping up to the plate to send flowers for Sue's Service!  Great idea to pay for it out of Class Money and settle up later! Great idea sticking with the Purple and Gold from our class, which is very appropriate from all of our class.  Sue DID so much to bring all of us together and she was such a fun and great gal! We'll all miss her smiling face and bubbly personality!

My thoughts are with Sue's family and friends. I hadn't seen Sue since our high school days. But I will always remember her and her always smiling face. Rest in peace sweet Sue.

Cheryl Turner (Hitzner)

Now there is another decision to make.  The obit says instead of flowers, please make a donation to Wesley Methodist Church.  What does everyone think?  My thought is, if individuals want to send flowers, that is fine but my feeling is "the class" should make a donation per the family's wishes.  Help me out here.  Thanks.

09/07/11 08:05 AM #1853

Terry (Max) Maxwell

I agree Cheryl... just my 2 cents worth, but if they want to donate money to the church instead of sending flowers, that is what we should do.  What do the rest of you think?

Sue's death is so Very very sad. What a beautiful person - both inside and outside. I concur with Cheryl's thought about a memorial. Flowers, although beautiful at a funeral, don't last. A memorial made in someone's name does. My deepest sympathies to the family and close friends. The Class of 64 I am sure will never forget this wonderful friend.
