I'm sending your NOTHING - nothing but positive thoughts and prayers for all the Raiders that are suffering from pain, illness, stress, and PTS, something I'm well acquainted with.  Had a chat with my favorite middle grandson on Veterans Day about Vietnam.  I skipped over the question about "did you ever kill anyone' but did show him a pic of when  I was bitten by a rat and had to have 10 days of rabies shots.  They are adminstered right where I'm pointing.  I did get to return from the field to a more clean and comfortable place for the 10 days.

He looked at the picture, looked at me, then reached up and grabbed my 'hanging chin' and said "Squshie, Squshie!  Gotta love little kids honesty.

GO CHIEFS

I have always wondered about this, perhaps many of you may have had the same question - - how do they recharge the individual colors in the traffic lights?  Now we know - - -

Update text from Boo!

"Please share with everone that the perforation has not heald and I am looking at another week, at least, unable to drink or eat. Today, they put in a PICC Line to give me nutrition. Next week, they will give me another swallow test to see if it is healing. For those who pray, pray for total quick healing and Philippians 3:14."

FYI  - I looked up PICC Line. It is a Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter Line and is a long, thin tube inserted into a vein in the upper arm and threaded to a large vein near the heart. It is used for long-term intravenous (IV) access to deliver medications, fluids, or nutrition, and to draw blood samples, avoiding the need for frequent needle sticks.

Marv--The barn/garage restoration looks good.  It looks better than some properties I have seen in the past.  Many of those old buildings are more stable than they look.  Happy Holidays

I'm so sad about Patti!!  She was one of my dearest and closest friends.  There was several of us who would go out to eat about once a month.  Of course we would talk on the phone for an hour or so.  Our kids were involved in the Tiger football program.   PATTI I'M GOING TO MISS YOU SO MUCH!

Prayers for you and your family.

Boo, I sure hope you get to feeling better soon.  I'll say some prayers for you.  You have to get well so you guys can come to the dinner in August.

I'm so sorry to hear of Patti Popejoy's passing.  We weren't close, but I did enjoy being around her when we were together.

Boo, thoughts and prayers for your healing.

Greetings from PR. This year we picked San Juan for the holiday location - last year it was HI. As none of us really likes turkey, we went to a Teppanyaki for dinner. This year, we've decided that since we are in Puerto Rico  we are going to a Tepanaki for Thanksgiving dinner. Why mess with a success?

Just received this email message from Boo.

"Perforation did not heal. Now looking at surgery to repair it through the neck. Scary. Please keep praying ."

Just got this update from Boo to add.

"Well, now I’m having surgery tomorrow. Afternoon. Scared but last option. Go in through neck, patch hole, cover with reinforcement from muscle. I’ve been able to talk but don’t know about after surgery . Will keep you posted."

I do not mean to seem impersonal in these messages but my personal comments to Boo are being made privately. I believe she is able to see the responses on this Message Forum and hopefully your comments will help lift her sprits a little. I know there is a lot of love and concern for her by many of you. Let's all pitch in and try to cheer her up.

Jack always helps us by making sure we keep our clocks current when time changes every spring and fall. So, I would like to contribute to the class by encouraging you to make the appropriate adjustments in lieu of Thanksgiving approaching. Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels to you all!

Dave - What the heck is Tepanaki? I assume it will not require the above action since it probably does not contain much butter or sugar. Enjoy your PR Thanksgiving!

Boo--I am sure anything in/near the neck is like anything in/near the heart--it is difficult and dangerous.  However, you had a good surgeon and team.  God is in your corner and cares for you.  I will keep you in my prayers for your well-being and healing.  God can and does work miracles--purpose being to glorify Him.  It can be difficult waiting through the healing process.  I know, at 79, I don't recover from the simple stuff (yard/garden work, etc.) like I did just a few years ago.

I just spoke with Boo's husband, Dave, and he said her surgery Monday went well. It will take about a month before she can swallow real food and will remain in the hospital on IV feeding for a few more days. She should get to go home possibly as soon as Saturday. Hopefully she can be fully recovered and back to normal living for Christmas.

Marvin, Thank you for the update on Boo.  I can't imagine not eating real food for that long.  But hopefully she isn't hungry and doesn't want to eat, anyway.

Have you or anybody heard about a service for Patty Popejoy?
