The Tuesday mini-reunion was well attended and was as usual a fun filled evening of conversation. Thirty of our classmates and guests were there. I got started taking photos too late and unfortunately missed several people before they left. Below are photos of those I was able to capture. David Brock, his wife Sandy came all the way from Missouri to join us and Janie Wettaw joined us for the first time. Janie has volunteered to join the Planning Committee as well. It was nice to have them included in the fun. I did not get photos of them so only those of us who were there got to see their smiling faces.

DAVE,  I assume from those great pictures from the base of the Grand Canyon you must have ridden a mule down the path ?  That's more adventurous than I am !   Sorry after your trip to the mini reunion you didn't get in the photos!

Here are a few pics in Zion National Park .... the only pictures are as we drove thru the park from the East Entrance to the West wich is the Main Entrance.  Entering at East there was no information given so we didn't know anything to view or pay attention to until arriving at the West Entrance which turned out to be the Visitor Center.  Our time schedule didn't allow time to backtrack so we said farwell to the mule dear at the entrance and kept on going!

Jim--  Grand Canyon pix--We went farther up river and floated down a few miles, then motored back to our starting point.  I forget the actual location for the starting point.  Most of the views were a spactacular work of God.  This was a fairly windy stretch of river--and almost every year at least one visitor/photographer  gets blown off the cliff edge (because they don't pay attention to the wind).

This is Montezuma Castle a cliff-dwelling pueblo about a 1 1/2 hour drive north of Phoenix.  It is relatively accessable ( as compared with others located in remote, rugged terrain).

One of several views of Montezuma Castle.

A grinding stone for grain, etc.

Sunset over the Grand Canyon.  Another adventure next time.

I am sad to report the passing of classmate Marilyn Andersen Hancock on May 20, 2024 at her home in Savoy, Illinois. She had been ill for some time. Her memorial service will be Saturday, June 1 at her church in Savoy. Marilyn was my wife for over 26 years, and we had two sons together. We were divorced in 1992. She married John Hancock in 1994. Our sons and John are among her survivors.

Marilyn Andersen was a 1964 graduate of BHS, having arrived in Bloomington early in our senior year. We married in 1965 and in 1971 she graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Medical Technology. That became her career until she retired from the Champaign County Blood Bank. At the time of her retirement she was the CCBB's director of quality assurance.

Marilyn was always a kind and loving person. She is survived by her husband John, sons Jim and Andrew Keefe, a step-son, one sister, plus several cousins and neices. She touched many lives during her time and will be fondly remembered, yet sadly missed.

I just received pictures from our youngest son and family of 5 kids from their mountain biking trip to NW Arkansas .... after a tornado went through their last night they found many branches and trees down on the biking trails.  They had lot of debri to maneuver around.  Three of the boys and dad found a cave to climb up to under a waterfall.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY !!!!   THANK YOU ALL VETERANS OUT THERE FOR YOUR SERVICE !!!

Thank you to all who offered kind words and condolences in the passing of classmate Marilyn Andersen Hancock, my first wife. I appreciate your reaching out. Marilyn and I were married for 26 years and divorced for the past 32. We didn't keep touch with each other except in matters concerning our sons, but we did keep track of where we were living and working. I suppose there's something to the old proposition that once you're divorced, you're never completely separated. At least, when there's children involved.

Special thanks to Marvin Theobald for updating Marilyn's obituary on the website once we got the completed copy.

These few photos are from a trip a few years ago to Alaska.  We were there the end of July.  These shots are in and around Skagway..  the first shots are from a train as we were traveling.

This is the coal car that goes with the engine next picture.  These are antique RR cars donated by the White Pass & Yukon Railway.

This engine with the red front is anow removal engine--to clear track in winter.

A tour bus on its way thru town.

A little local  hu.

Gold panningin Skagway.  So much for today's report.

This is so weird, but I don't remember anything about high school graduation!  Was it outside on the foot ball field ?
