Good luck to Mike Eddings today. He is getting stabbed in the back. No, seriously, he's having back surgery.

Mike's spinal fusion went very well yesterday. Thanks to all of you who wished him the best. They fused 3 vertebrae (sp?) above the last fusion and they went in from the side with a fairly small incision. He is in St. Joseph Room 242. Hopefully he will be home in a few days and will start to recouperate and then go back to physical therapy where Abby Holt (Dave and Sandy's daugher) is his physical therapist.

We have a friend that had that done and is free of all back pain!  We pray that Mike's surgery and recovery will respond likewise!  GREAT NEWS!

Bloomington Rail Yards

Judy Tynan (Danielson)

I remember the rail yard well.  They were a souce of comfort to me as I lived next to them my all my life.  I was taught that if I ever had a problem just find a railroader and I would get help.  My Grandfather worked at the yards during the depression, lost an eye and had a lifetime job when others didn't .  He died a year before I was born but my grandparents lived across the street from the railyard and I have an Aunt that still lived in the old house until a few yrs ago, when she went into insisted living. Great memories of the Great West Side!!!!!

The railroad was such a major piece of history for our community! The roundhouse was a classic.

I missed Victor Jackson's comments and spelling challenges on this board, and sensed something was wrong.

Sure enough, he had a heart attack.  Last night was the first night he was home in 5 weeks.  Said he has an I.C.D. ?? that, by the grace of God, saved his life.

Here's hoping he has a complete recovery.
