Mike,

You and I were only trying  to make Ms. Flinspach's days brighter.  She couldn't be my favorite because she had my sister and my aunt when they were in high school, and she never hesitated to remind me about how good and nice they were.

I don't remember her ever encouraging me to go to college either.  She was probably thinking " why don't Steve and Mike and maybe a few others just drop out of school".

I enjoy reading your thoughts and don't feel bad about missing the class reunions, I haven't been able to work them into my schedule either.

Suzi, when on the Messaage Forum, click on "Post Response". In the top line, click on the "Image" box to the right of "Source". It will open another window. Click on "Choose File" and it will take you to your desktop file list. Select the image you want to post and enter "Upload". It will show up in the same box you use to post text messages. If you want to add text, write it above or below the photo. You can repeat the process, adding as many photos as you want on a single post. When you're done, enter "Submit" and it should show up in the Message Forum. If you mess up, you can click the word "Edit" to make revisions. Call me if you have any problems. My phone no. is on the back of the calendar I gave you. Good luck.

Hi everyone!  I have my coffee and a piece of pumpkin pie!  I'm having 'breakfast' with you!  Is everyone awake yet?

I loved seeing the photos of the 'mini'.  Looking forward to more of them from Suzi.

Last week we had snow, right here in my desert.  When it is Illinois weather .....I don't go outside.  So I took 2 days of vacation until it was all gone.

After living in Illinois.............if the weather messes up my shoes..........I don't go outside.  I'm glad I can do that too!  But, I still have fond memories of growing up there with all of you!

Blessings and Holiday Blessings to you ALL!

Linda

Joan's timing in posting the 8th grade photos was an interesting coincidence. Gail Hempstead Uphoff has been going through her belongings recently and within the past few weeks has sent some of her BHS relics to me in hope that they might be shared with others. They include 8th and 9th grade picture books, several Aegis papers and a very fun 4th grade memories book with some really fun pics.

I want to thank Gail for sharing these treasures. I will be posting bits and pieces of the things Gail sent to me over the next several weeks so as to not overwhelm you with too much too fast. There are some really fun pics and stories to share that will undoubtedly bring back memories for most if not all of you.

Since Steve Frankeburger posted such a fun message a few days ago I have decided to start with him in this trip down memory lane. The first is in Oct 1956, second is in Aug 1957 and the last from 4th grade.

Steve, how many years did you go to Emerson school?  Did you go to kindergarten there?

12/14/17 03:45 PM #6477

Steve Frankeberger

Suzi,

I attended Emerson school from kindergarten until December of 4th grade.  I think my first teacher was Mrs. Lawson.  Any help with names for 1st - 4th would be great.

By the way Mel, I always wanted to be first at something but not necessarily having my mug shot from days gone by on this site.  However I was impressed with the styles back then.

Sorry Marv,  I thought your brother did that to me.  When I went back and checked I saw it was not Mel.  Now I can blame you...

Suzi,

Thanks, you are a living legend of history.  I remember a couple of those teachers but not all of them.  Maybe due to the 60+ years that have passed.  Was Jean Holcomb our fourth grade teacher when I transferred to Washington elementary, if so who were our fifth and sixth grade teachers?

Larry Cotton

Hi everyone,

Marvin sent me an note to update my profile. I think he was checking to see if I was still "kicking"! I am and I am now a 6 year stage 4 cancer survivor. My Doctors think that it is due to the new Kemo cancer drugs they have me on. I tell them that it is about 30% that and 70% the lifestyle. I have been working at Yosemite National Park. The fresh mountain air, daily hikes, riding my bike to work, positve attitude, and doing a job that I love, are the most powerful "natural cures" that we have. However, I plan to retire in April 2018. Nobody up here belives it, they do not know that I have made summer reservations for Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Colorado so that Jeri and I can do many of the hiking trails we missed in previous visits. I promised my wife, Jeri, that I would take her to Colorado Springs to see the Ice Skating Hall of Fame. She was a ice skater in the pairs competion for several years.

Thanks for all of the wonderful memories at BHS. I want to wish all of you a very merry Christmas and a fun 2018!
