Mike:
In December 1966 I bought a 1967 Camara, 6 cylinder, (the first year it was made). It was a red convertible with a white top, stick shift, bucket seats, and with that white stripe across the front by the headlights.
Sorry, but it didn't come with steamed up windows! I paid $3,200 for it. I owned that car until 1985. I gave it to my ex-husband's nephew who wanted to practice working on cars for when he could own one and could do his own repairs.
Back then, 1970, with my first child, there weren't regular seats for kids. They had this little seat that could hook over the back seat, but no seat belt. And........she could ride in the front seat!
Gas was cheap and I could fill the tank for about $5.
Ahhhhhhhh, those were the days!
My van had a 30 gallon tank and was over $50 per tank!
I remember in high school that a pack of cigarettes and a gallon of gas were about the same price.
Take care.
Linda
