Linda Bristow (Elias)
Hi everyone! Nostalgia reigns beginning tomorrow! Remembering October when we weres kid bring back the memories of trying to decide what we wanted to dress up like for Halloween. Some people have said, in recent years, that it is a celebration of a pagan holiday. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. As kids, I doubt that any of us thought about that at all. We were just looking forward to fun with family and friends, and, of course getting candy.
Yesterday, kids were clammoring in the stores in their excitement to see all of the costumes. I remember when we combined things, and some had a bit of artistic talent, to make our own costumes. I remember when Diane Gardner's brother Pete, about kindergarten or first grade, came as the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz. His mother had made it with boxes covered in aluminum foil. How charming it was for family members to help each other on their project to celebrate Halloween.
Remembering our youth!
Love to all, Linda
