Happy New Year to all the classmates I don't know and one or two that I remember.  I'm so pathetic!

Heres wishing you all a Happy New Year!!! Welcome to our website Nancy. You are definitely not pathetic, just a long way from 1964.

I will be driving to Dallas tomorrow to visit my daughter. Before returning home I will have been in Dallas, San Antnio, Houston, New Orleans, Cape Coral, Fl, Key Colony Beach, Fl, Vero Beach, Fl, and Indianapolis.  Will be home 3 days and then go to Negril, Jamaica for 9 days. By then spring will be just around the corner. Retirement and friends are a great combination. What a life! Fun, fun, fun!

I pointed to two old drunks across the bar from us and told my friend Dave Holt "That'll be us in twenty years."

He turned to me and said "You dummy, that's a mirror."

Here we are starting a new year that will make us look another year older. They just keep coming, thank goodness.

It sure beats the alternative! Have fun on your trips! Jim and I keep thinking about retirement but we still enjoy what we do so much! It is a hard decision to make. Have a great 2015!

Mr. Schaab died.

Had him in 7th grade shop, at Irving School.

Mike...

I had him, also, and he was one of my favorite teachers that I ever had.  He's one of the reasons that I became an industrial arts teacher.

Max, I believe that the mark of a very good teacher would be wether they made a lasting impression on their students. Mr. Schaab was that kind of a teacher. Our age group was very fortunate to have had so many good teachers that prepared us for life's challenges. Of course teaching is not limited to public school. I learned my craft from people that took an interest in me, and took the time and patience to teach me.

I'm grateful for all of those people that have touched my life. I regret that didn't take the opportunity to thank them. I suppose that these are the things that we reflect upon as we reach our twilight years.

Oren joined Clayton, my husband Jim and me in 2005 in Washington, DC for Memorial Day.  Oren got a real

suprise when he ran into his long lost cousin....made his trip for him.  We will miss him.

Mr. Schaab was a kind and thoughtful teacher.  Having just moved to Bloomington to start 7th grade at Irving, he was an encouraging teacher for me.

My apologies for a few mis-spelled words. I have come to rely on spell check, rather than Merriam-Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary. I'm sure that our sainted BHS english teachers would have scolded me for being lazy. Of course this is the 21st century, so why bother with those old scholastic values?

Have you ever seen the disasters of relying on autocorrect / autocomplete while texting?  Hilarious!  Also a good reason not to rely upon spell check....

Hi everyone!   So far 2015 has brought unusual weather to my desert!   This morning we had black ice warnings.  Schools couldn't open until 10 am.

I remember Bloomington... when schools never closed except for regular holidays!  Do you all remember the same concept?   Just checking to make sure I remember it correctly.

Blessings to you all!

Linda...

I seem to recall the same thing.  I don't remember being off for snow days either.  This week in Wisconsin it has been bitter cold all week... below 0* at night and single digits during the day with wind chills in the -20* to -30* range.  No school on Tuesday in our part of the state because of the cold.  Heck, we would have had to walk to school in it... up hill 5 miles both ways!

And here on the lake, it's 70 degrees and we're freezing! Nights have been in the low 40's and since we don't have heat in the house except one little electirc heater we stay bundled up in fleece jackets. All of the snowbirds are walking around in tank tops and shorts while the permanentes are having to scrounge for winter clothes.

Ty and I are looking at real estate in Puerto Vallarta for our next adventure. I really don't know how you deal with the extreme cold Terry and black ice in El Paso seems unreal. Daughter Carrie is coming next week from Oregon and wants to spend a day at the thermal pools so we can get the chill out.

Hanie...

After so many years in Wisconsin you kinda get used to it... but you don't have to like it though.  When the wind chill is -20* you don't spend a lot of time outdoors.  Long enough to remove snow from the driveway and back inside, or in the car where it is warm.

Thank you, Patti Miller!

I'm so glad that you recognized me and introduced yourself the other day. Please forgive me that I didn't recognize you at first, but I throughly enjoyed our conversation. I'm glad that you are well and that life is good to you. It's always exciting to see old classmates, especially since we ARE the best class to ever grace the halls of BHS!

Unless you're at a Packers game, of course

Rod-

How are you doing with our inclimate weather in East Texas?  I'm sick of it in my desert!

But Max.........you have access to all of the Leinenkugel's you can drink. We don't get a selection here in B/N. David, why would anyone be a Packer fan? Of course in Green Bay, It's OK to marry your sister, so "why not?"

I've been to 3 Packers games... when they played da Bears for 2 of them and to be a designated driver for the other when someone had tickets to a sky box and I just couldn't pass that up... even to have to watch the Packers.  Mike... not a Leinies drinker myself... but I know a lot of them.
