Jerry,

your wife's current situation, cancer free!, makes my heart soar... It is good when someone can beat That Damned Monster

Give her a kiss for me and tell her that the hair will return and be as beautiful as ever, meanwhile, wigs can look very attractive.. Malinda wore them for 2 years and always looked good

Linda,

Many of those old veterans had buried at least one wife, but still wanted someone to keep their feet warm at night... I imagine many of them married girls who were younger than their daughters... that is the only way the child of a civil war soldier could live into the 21st century.

I know why those girls married old men and why they had children by them... your classmate's new wife is a mystery.. unless of course, his name is Daddy Warbucks

Jerry, I'm so happy to hear the good news about Kathy! I remember her from the Class of "66"! Memories remind me of how petite and sweet she was and I'm certain she still is! No one deserves to be invaded by the Big C! Praise God for the Great News! Hug each other from the Class of "64". She deserves all the hugs!

smileyJerry, so glad to hear Kathy is cancer free.  I will keep her in my prayers.

Linda, Dave had blood work, chest scan and body scan a week ago but we haven't gotten the results yet.  He's out  walking right now.

Hugs to everyone and have a nice weekend.

I hope the 49ers kick Green Bays butt and knock Rogers ass up to Canada!!!!

Oh my I just saw something flying towards Canada.  Is it a bird, a plane, no it's Aaron Rogers ass end first headed to Canada.

PS:  thank you Linda, it's amazing what prayers can do.

Hi Suzi:

Must be nice to see someone flying ass-end-first to Canada!  Did you take a photo?  HaHa!

It is so cold here for us!   When I went down into the Barrios today for breakfast, it was 21 degrees.  The highest I've seen today was 38.   We are not equipped for this.

There is this wonderful little lady that makes this Mexican soup called Menudo.  It is made with red chile, hominy, and tripe.  When you get a bowl of it you add plenty of chopped onion, Mexican oregano, and squeeze plenty of lime juice.  At least once each cold season, I meet a cousin of my children down there for the soup.   It seems like it takes about 5 hours to digest it.   Talk about sticking to your bones!  But, I enjoy the ritual.

Hope the weather in Illinois is treating you all well!

Love ya, Linda

Rodney (Rod) Hayes

So Suzi,  how do you really feel about Aaron Rodgers.  Like you, I was glad to see his expression of defeat.  You could say that the Pack is NOT back just as yet.  This might make you feel even better.  i have a friend who at one time not long ago was very deep into the Green Bay Organization.  He and many, many fans up there were not very happy with the choice of Aaron Rodgers as the Quarterback.  GO NINERS!!!

Good Luck to your husband with his test results.

Rod

Thanks Rod, we still have not heard anything.  Only time will tell.

Ideally it would be nice if the 49ers and Ravens played each other in the Super Bowl, but it could also be tough on their parents.  Right now I'm just so happy the cheesy heads aren't going!!!!!

It appears that the Chicago Bears have made a decision on their new head coach.  After an extensive search, they are prepared to name Alfred E. Neuman to the position. Neuman says, "Beating the Packers is a priority!" Not sure what he means by that. Neuman is " Not worried".

There is some regret the Niners didn't draft Rodgers and instead took Alex Smith. Rodgers is a local guy from Chico, played at Cal and grew up loving the 49ers (Really enjoyed watching him in Berkeley as they beat USC). However, Kaepernick who went to high school in Turlock, played at Nevada-Reno seems to be turning out just fine.  Of course we were delighted to beat the Pack since they've been a thorn in our side for a long time.

Going to Hotlanta will be tough.  Too much deep-fried everything and weak wine lists.

Not really Jerry, Hellanta has been invaded by yankees. It is almost impossible to find a southernor, much less a Georgian there. And to make matters worse, they have brought all sorts of vile local foods with them... can't find tripe or chitlins or anything good anymore...

You may be right about the wine as I have never been so afflicted, however we do have some wonderful "squeezins" that imbibe from time to time..

Hi everyone:

Glad to hear our music back on the site!

I was looking for where my family could buy organic food direct from the farm around Bloomington.   Found a site called Illinois farm direct.  I'm so impressed that there are so many that have gone ORGANIC around Bloomington now.  I had no idea!

When I go visit it is difficult for me to eat.   They have that one store on College Ave. and it was very limited.  I found that the farms are my best bet.

My family doesn't eat preservatives, dairy, gluten, and we filter our own water.   We don't eat nor drink from plastic.  I make pies and pastries with almond flour, use goat products instead of bovine, etc.  We still have tasty food but we just don't catch all of the flu, colds, etc. that everyone else seems to!

You all are so fortunate to have such an abundance of very healthy foods!

Blessings to y'all!

Linda

Sunday what a problem!  Niners playing the Falcons at noon yet Mavericks opens at 8 AM.  Projecting 30' waves to hit Pillar Point.  Hope the Niners do well, I'll be elsewhere.

Ok.......this site is tooooo quiet!   What did you all plan for a New Year's resolution?

I did something very realistic.   Every Saturday morning I'm treating myself and friends to breakfast at my favorite restaurant.   Each year I chose to lose weight..........well, I didn't keep it.  So this one is easier!

So now I waddle as I walk!

Blessings to all!    Linda

Well Linda I was going to make a New Years resolution to do a better job of remembering things to do, but I forgot to make it so I guess I will have to wait till next year.  (If I remember).

My email has been compromised so if you received a letter from me asking for money because I am stuck in the Philippines, I am not there, I have never been there, I never plan to go there. :)

You're not planning to go there unless, of course, you get enough money sent to you! :)

I'm writing this with tears in my eyes,my family and I came down here to Manila,Philippines for a short vacation. unfortunately,we were mugged at the park of the hotel where we stayed, all cash and credit card were stolen off us but luckily for us we still have our passports with us.

We've been to the Embassy and the Police here but they're not helping issues at all and our flight leaves in few hours from now but we're having problems settling the hotel bills and the hotel manager won't let us leave until we settle the bills. Well I really need your financial assistance..Please, let me know if you can help us out?

Am freaked out at the moment!!
