Pills or not, that would be correct.

Even with a few more pills, this one should be a little more clear.  This was sent a little after 9 p.m., but I'm not sure they were still in the joint. Diane is missing, perhaps took the picture.

This is what you call a photo accident, like the funny glass at the old Riverview Park in Chicago.

Don't know if you all got the e-mail, but Bob Singletary died August 8, of rectal cancer.  In Florida.

Sandra Jeakins (Singletary Sizemore)

on a happy note-Happy Birthday, Milan.  On a sad note, thanks for posting that Bob Singletary died.  I hadn't heard that. He was my brother-in-law for 21 years, but we only e-mailed once in awhile...   So out of 4 kids, Sandra Lee is the only one left.  She graduated in 1962 (I think.).  There were 4 kids in 2 years because of Ronnie and Connie being twins.

Milan, hope your Birthday has been happy!

So sad to hear about Bobby! Our numbers are gradually dwendling! We need to live life to its fullest as though it is our last! Settle all the waters with anyone we might be angry with and keep the smiles going with happiness and fulfilling days! Life IS GOOD!

Happy Birthday Mr. Milan...you're lookin good.

Thank you Sandy and others for letting us know about Bob.

A few comments about Bob Singletary. From the years at BHS he and Elizabeth Stein were both amazing influences on me. It makes me very sad to know they are both gone. As we all know he was an incredible draughtsman. One of the best I ever knew and I have known some great ones. Bob could sometimes be antagonistic, but he never lost focus on what he wanted to do with his life. Although he had some very difficult times and long years of health problems, he was a constant student of art making and art history. We had periods of correspondence in our lives that were always challenging and supportive. When Bob talked about art, he talked about the very essence and meaning of life. Many people had a problem with his ego, but it was his passion for creating that stirred his ego. He could never be anything different. His work is included in many collections, including the Smithsonian Museum. Thought it might be a small tribute to a most amazing and always childlike observer of the world we all live in to display his two pieces from the Smithsonian. RIP Robert.

Mel:

Not so sure I remember this clearly......but wasn't Bonnie Moncelle also an artist in high school with Singletary?

Haven't seen her since BHS.  She used to live nearby to me and Sue.

His sister Sandra said:

"He was an artist, he did everything he felt he had been born to do. I can take comfort in that."

Linda, you are so right. Bonnie was a very serious art student, went to ISU and was married to Bob for a brief time. It obviously didn't work out. She was very vibrant and active as an artist, but I think got smothered by Bob. I can only hope she is out there seeing all of this. Since she is not on the "Missing" list, I assume someone has her info, but she has not signed in to this forum. I, for one, would be delighted if she did.

Bonnie is in Georgia if anyone wants to call her. I remember her well. Nice girl. Lived on Marion St. just around the corner from Sue.

Harriett (Holly) Rust (Wood)

I find comfort in Sandra's words about Bob.  I didn't have much interaction with him through the years, but when I did I always felt he was frustrated.  I am glad to know he was happy with his work.

My Mom gave him a lot of support in high school and I still have two of his paintings using a coffee ground media that I love.  They are trees and I tend to be drawn to more concrete art although I see the beauty in the works you shared, Mel.

It always startles me to realize we are at the point in life where our numbers are diminishing.  Most days I don't feel "old" and I still have so much I hope to do.  I guess we still need to remember Carpe Diem!!

According to Sue......Bonnie sends her a Christmas Card every year.   She believed that there was no other contact with anyone in our class.

I pray she sees this and knows we want to see her too!

Sue Koppenhoefer just made my day, sending rare pics from the '84 Reunion. Don't have time to process right now, but here is a teaser.
