Mel,

If Jack and I could go back on a Time Machine, ya'll would most lilkely not see us for awhile.  We would go way back before Rod Serling.  Maybe back to the days of Knight-Hood.  What do ya think Jack.  Oh, by the way Jack and Vic, Mae West was already in hear 70's when we graduated from HIgh Scool.  She was a looker in her day though.  Go to her Web Site sometime and look at Quotes from Mae West.  They are a riot.

Rod, I see us going back even to the Roman times, where we would book and/or handicap the gladiator acts (you know, which guy fights which lion).  We would have put ringers in there, and suckered Holt into thinking the guys were too small.

On Mae West, I thought she was hot in her 80's, at least with her pancake make-up on, and now lament the fact that I did not become a master locksmith in the LA area.

The Class of 1963 is taking donations for Susie Buckler and Steve Devary's daughter. She has stage 4 lung cancer and is in bad shape. There is a fund raiser at the Castle Theater on June 11. Kristi is sick enough she can't take care of herself and is living with her mother. If anyone from this class wants to donate, I am collecting money for them. We aren't going to donate it through the fund raiser because expenses get held out. We want Kristi to get every dime. If you want to send money, make the check out to Class of 1963 and put Kristi's name in the memo box. Then mail it to me. Susie went through most of her years in our class but finished in your class. Don't feel pressured to donate. Just so you know, I am the fund raiser for the Class of 1963 but my name isn't on the bank account. I keep track of donations and hand them off to a treasurer. That way at least two people are in on every transaction.

Just think if you had been a master locksmith, Victor.  She might have said "come up and see me sometime".

Wrong Jack.  She would have said: Is that a Lock in your pocket big boy, or are you just glad to see me.

Jack, I like that idea of the Roman days.  We could have our own stable.  Guys like the British Bull Dogs and the Road Warriors.  They get all roided up and take on the favorites.  We make the big bucks and move on.  Speaking of moving on.  How about the Medieval Days.  We could be Second Wave Barbarians.  The First Wave does the terrorizing, killing and destroying, the Second Wave does the pilfering, raping, and heavy partying.  Common for that time.  Then we move on again.  Maybe to the roaring 20's.  I hear that was quite a time to live in.  Living in the Chicago area, you should have some good stories about 20's in Chicago.

Rod, the First Wave is a little too violent and dangerous, but the Second Wave sounds more like the branch of service that would have fit.  We would have moved up the "heavy partying", which would have negated the need for the raping.  Many good Chicago stories from all eras, I had one handy, but decided to wait to put it into the more private Classmate Profiles next time I change that.

On the right is my late friend Rocco, about whom I could write a book, but the Chicago story I had is about the other guy, which I'll tell another time.

I can't wait to hear about Duffy. :)

:)   Slick how you figured that out Milan.  Must be psychic huh?  Or, could it be that you right clicked "Properties"?

I figured I could get Googled and ambushed so I'll leave the Duffy story for the sign-in Classmate Profile page when I get to it.

Hey Milan,

FYI Gary Wilcox passed away 10 years ago.  Just wanted you to know because his wife Linda is a class mate of ours.

Well we survived our first cruise!!!!!!  Had a lot of fun, but the weather sucked big time.  I did get a little tan.   We went to some shows, did a lot of eating, than walking, than eating!  We went to see a hypnotist and quess who got up on stage and got hypnotise.  ME!  OH MY GOD!  The s____ I did!  Right now all I will say is I had to do sign language to the audience from an alien and these shows can get a little dirty.

We are still in sunny Ca. and having a blast with my nephew Tom and his wife Gin.  They are our age and a lot of fun.

I hope all the mothers had a great mothers day.

I'm not sure but I may have done the obituary of Gary's death. I did a lot of them. I wish a happy birthday to those we have lost because I want to remember them. I've done that in the '63 site for some time. I just realized that I hadn't done it in here. So now I am. I went through the obituaries and listed the birthdates and put them in order by date so now I can do it. We are prone to be sad for those we miss but it's almost "out of sight, out of mind" at times. I grew up a few blocks from Gary. I remember the time someone dared him to grab a squirrel. No one thought he could get close enough to do it anyway. Well he did it. That squirrel chewed him up so fast, he didn't have time to let go fast enough. Funny now, it wasn't that funny at the time to Gary. :)

I knew Linda too and always thought Gary was a lucky guy.

We just returned from a trip to Arkansas. When we left home last Saturday they were sandbagging  I- 55 south of Sikeston, MO. The water was right up to the edge of the road. This picture is on highway 67 between Newport and Little Rock. It was really "freaky" driving on this road. For about 15 miles there was  water on both sides as far as you could see.  The flooding is not just on the Mississippi.  This happened to be from the White River.  It is a total mess down there.

It gives the illusion that you're driving on a lake, and that that road might not be there just after the next hill.

Jack,  I think you have something with the heavy partying idea.  I thought about it, and I think we would be really great in the 1800's as River Boat Gamblers.  We would take turns being the actual player and the other being the wing man.

Gary Wilcox.  I knew Gary through relatives and he was really a good guy.  Something he didn't always project to some people.  I use to say that Gary was a waste of really good raw athletic talent.  I remember one time at a football game, some guy bet him he couldn't do a clean one arm push up.  So Gary went right down on the spot and did TEN.  Arm behind the back and all that.  I didn't remember how long ago, but do remember he passed a few years back.  Really sad.  He was still young man.

We are all still young. Just more experienced. (laugh)

Milan,

I know you are kind of a history buff.  I looked at all the pictures on your profile, and man, what memories.  I remember a lot about B/N, but some of those really jogged the old brain.  There are two pics that just really blew me away.  The one of Hull's Drive Inn.  I had forgot about that place.  The one pic had Brown's on the corner.  My Dad worked there and I think the "59" Ford setting in front could be his.  We had a "59" two tone, brown and cream.  Then on down is Peifer's market.  I knew everybody in there, since my parents went there a lot.  A guy named Donnie Bier worked there and he was a little older, but we got to be good friends.  I think his Dad was a Butcher there.  Then down on the corner, if you look close, there is a Pabst sign on the corner building.  My uncle owned that place at one time.  When he sold the business, my Dad put the long shuffle board table that he had in our basement.  I really got good at that game.  My Grand-Mother and my Mother both worked at Roland's, so I could still walk you through that store.  There still a few places I haven't seen that I remember very well.  I will look to see if I have any pics of them.  If not, I'll get back to you to see if someone has them.

My folks were good friends of the Peifer's and Donnie Bier sounds familiar to me also.  I'm thinking that Gloria Starkey's sister married a Bier, but am not certain.  I dated one of the Peifer's while in High School, but can't remember his first name now, maybe Eddie??? I'm not sure.  Rod, all the names you mentioned also woke up my memory also.

I just got back from a visitation. An old friend passed away this past week. Bob Crabtree. His brother Charlie is in this class. One of the best auto parts men in Bloomington for years. God bless the Crabtree family.

I am probably wrong but I thought Gloria's sister married Bob Brice. Wrong?

Milan you are doing a great job and I didn't realize you were doing people who had I past away.  Please accept my apologies.
