Sandwich reminds me of my brothers eating it when I was very young.

I am learning to make gluten free bread that doesn't taste like cardboard.  Perhaps I will get to enjoy a sandwich again some day!

Sadly, we have lost another classmate. Carol Trenary Logsdon's obituary appeared in this morning's paper and can also be seen at the funeral home's website:  Obituary information for Carol Logsdon (kiblerbradyruestman.com) .  There will be a graveside service for Carol thursday at 11 am in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery (on Miller Street just east of Main in Bloomington.)

Carol was a very sweet lady.  She was involved in our class reunions and she did a great job.

She also was involved in the agent orange that has killed so many of our Viet Nam veterans.
She will be missed by all her family and friends including our class.

RIP CAROL!!  🙏🙏🙏

I'm saddend to hear about the loss of our dear classmate Carol Trenary Logsdon. I looked forward to seeing her at our last reunion and was thrilled that she was there greeting everyone as they arrived. Carol was a member of the BHS Art Club, was creative, and was always energetic. Although I hadn't seen her for several decades, I never forgot her nor had she forgotten me. I wish I could add more, but she, like so many others, made an  impression that will last a lifetime. I'd like to think that Carol and all the rest of us know that our histories are entertwined. That is what makes the Class of '64 so special. When I last saw Carol, we hugged as if all those years had never passed and we were still 17 years old. I have no doubt that she would have wanted all of us to celebrate out lives together. I repeat, I am very saddened by the loss of Carol, a truly beautiful soul.

Linda, go on utube and search for northeast Presbyterian church, find Easter service. I'm in the front row . No solo, high soprano! I am a seasonal singer which means I sing for several weeks around Easter and Christmas.Other church roles keep me from singing full time. I looove singing!

Sandra Jeakins (Singletary Sizemore)

Yes, Boo.  I agree with Mel. If you remember me, you remember I sang a lot of solos in choir and I took voice lessons.  I sang soprano and even sang opera.   After my first Son was born, my voice range went down and settled there.  My voice teacher worked with me to try to get it up, but I couldn't sing high anymore.  Miss Spiegel, from my grade school and Junion High days,  always said my voice was more comfortable singing alto, so that proved her right.  These days, I don't have the breath support to sing and my singing voice is gone.  So I envy you, but am happy for you,  that you can still sing.

Debbie Stumm is Shirley Stumm's Sister.  You might remember Shirley from the class of 1963.  Debbie works at my church and has told me Shirley still sings and has a beautiful voice.  She took voice lessons from Mrs. Wilson, the same teacher I had.

On a sadder note:  Did anyone from our class attend the graveside service for Carol Trenary?  I didn't know her well enough to attend, even though I was on the reunion committee with her five years ago. I hope someone was there to respresent our class.

Thank you Jim Rookus for the Birthday Wish.  I guess you're the new keeper of Raiders Class 64.  It's been quite sometime since I was active on this site.  However I do read it on regular basis.  It is informative, with some people who are funny, witty, and great pics.  Unless something changes, and that can happen a lot at our ages, my wife and I are planning on being at the 60 Reunion.  I'll really miss seeing some of my great friends who have passed the last few years. Hopefully, there will be a good turnout.

Sandy:

What was the last name of our choir instructor in 8th and 9th grade?  Her first name was Sandy.  She took me to ISNU, to their musical department, and they recorded 8 songs of me bellowing.  She introduced me to a guy who could coach me.  I took his card home and my mother quickly threw it away.  For some reason, they shared my recordings with other schools.  I don't know anything else about it.

From being about 3 to about 15 years old, my mother played the piano and I sang with my sisters.  Sadly, I was not allowed to sing at my married home.  Those 25 years made a difference in my voice.  When visiting my daughter, she always plays music and has her children sing with me.  Boy, did I get tired of Baby Baluga!

Thank you for sharing your singing experience too!

Love ya, Linda

James (Jim) Rookus

Hmmmmm .... just thinking out loud ... with all this recent interest and discussion of "singing" maybe we need to put together an ensemble to provide music at the reunion in August !!!
Boo on soprano ... maybe Linda on alto .... Mel or Marve on tenor and I'll cover base !  We could pick a "low" key ... so low that no one can hear us!!

James (Jim) Rookus

On second thought ad Sandy to the group .... she on soprano and Boo on 1st Soprano ... hope you can hit rose high notes!
