Sandy, this van Gogh thing is hysterical, except that the correct pronunciation is "van Gok". Never-the-less, you have inspired me. So, I'm adding a few of my own versions - all made up this afternoon. Hope they bring a few more laughs. What's next? Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Melvin, you are very clever with the responses to Van Gogh.  You, too, Jim.  I didn't make any of those up.  i copied and pasted them from Facebook.  I'm not clever when it comes to thinking of things like that. They did make me chuckle.

Hi All,

Let's hear a Hip, Hip, Hooray!  I have a new hip and am up walking using a walker.  I did have a little trouble on the way to the hospiral for the operation - my prosthetic leg fell off and I ended up carrying it in with me:

Try as I might, I could not rotate the image- but you get the idea.

Dog Pictures:

This is Dog - my constant companion anytime i was inside the wire and for whom I had to find a puppy sitter when going out for a stroll?

His favorite C-ration meal was Ham & Eggs, chopped with a dash of hot sauce.  His least favorite meal, like mine was Ham & Lima Beans.

This is our current Granddog, Frida.  We (Dorothy) watch her on Wednesday & Thursday when Erin has late office hours at NEIU.

3 year old standard poodle - very smart, but a little wierd at the same time - she loves to be petted, but will sit just out of arms length so I have to stretch for the privledge of scratching her ears.

Thank you for the name correction as it seems to be a name of spellings many ways.  I still get mail to Dianne Uban and Dianne with only one n.  I answer to all!  Susie I hope your day was peaceful and fun!  Hard to believe that number but it's only a number.  Each day fills me with gratitude and appreciation for so many of my friends from BHS.  Happy Spring to all of you and I hope to see you in August.

Hello from one of your reclusive classmates.   I've fallen far out of the habit of dropping in on this great group of classmates .... not on purpose.   Hope to see some of you in our August get together and the reunion later.

Your birthday greetings are much appreciated.

Elaine and I have been spending a fair of amout of our time traveleing, mostly to see our kids.   Son and his wife are presently in Phoenix and seem inclined to stay there after a long tenure in Chicago.  Daughter Jessica, her spouse Arno, and my grandson Charlie are in Luxembourg.  Thus, we spend a lot ot time traveling.  We'll be seeing "the whole gang" in late April here in Illinois.

Bless you all and take care.

Just a thought:

I stopped by a Burger King and purchased a Whopper Jr. meal that came with a small FF and small coke for $6.29.  This was the same price of a Whopper meal before COVID.

Then I happened to remember that this same size meal was 35 cents when McDonald's initially opened.

I remember that my mother didn't allow me to eat at McDonald's because it didn't seem healthy.

However, I could eat the same thing at Hubbard's Cupboard and it was alright.   Hmmmmmm.

A memory from a while ago ....

Our regular observers may remember

a while ago we had a group of us who

reminisced about as kids eating braunschweiger

"aka" liverworst sandwiches ...... well

the taste buds for that hit me again ... so

for lunch today I made one ... pictured here

is both sides prior to smashing them together!

Hope this doesn't "gross" some of you out!

Of course must top off with plenty of mayo!

Braunschweiger--most braunschweiger is pretty generic in texture and flavor.  If you blend in a dash of liquid smoke it makes a pretty good dip for chips, crackers and veggies.
