I had to put my 15 year old Maggie, a minature Dachshund,  to sleep in July.  I've been really lonely and missing her.  I got this new puppy Saturday at Pet Central who had a tent at the Caldwell Banker Homes for Dogs event.  She was born 6/25/22 and is part Shar-Pei and part Coonhound. So she could be a big girl when full grown.  But I've had Boxers so I've had big dogs before, though it's been a while.  The foster Dad said she was about 70% potty trained, but I think it's more like 90%.   Her name is Cinnamon because she is the color of Cinnamon. When she isn't playing and running, she is very lovable, like hounds are.  It's a good thing I have a big house and a fenced in yard.  She can really run!   I hope her pictures brings some smiles to your faces.  She sure has made a difference in my life and it's only been a day.

Sandra:

Congratulations on the new spice of your life---Cinnamon.  I'm so glad you're enjoying "puppy love".

I choose not to have another animal.  Anything that can eat or POOP better be a grandchild at my house!

Too, I don't need to trip over anything either!

Here's hoping that you and Cinnamon have many health and happy years together!

Love ya, Linda

Thanks, Linda.   I actually considered "Spicy" for her name.  Or Ginger.  But settled on Cinnamon.  I know what you mean.  She wears me out.  But when she settles down, she is loveable.  We just woke up from a nap together.   I said Maggie would be my last dog, also. But I was lonely without her.  My Grandkids are all grown and my Great-Grandkids aren't around often.  My Son, who lives right behind me,  is going to help me with her and will take her if she proves to be too much for me.  But she is already sitting on command (just started that this morning)  and I'm working with her on other things. I hadn't thought about Christmas, but Liz (Spillman-Alex) mention all the decorating I do.  There might not be a tree at my house this year.  ha-ha

This picture was taken by the adoption center that I got her from.

Surgery Report--Thank you --one and all-- who prayed for Sandy and her surgery.  Surgery was Tuesday.   It lasted about 5 hours..  However, there were a couple of delays that made it into an all day affair.  We checked into the hospital about 5 AM, and left a little after 11 PM..  The surgery was heart by-pass, and appears to have been successful.  Time will tell.  Thank you for all your prayers and concerns.

David, so glad to hear everything went well.  You surely don't mean you both left the hospital at 11:00 pm?

I will still keep her in my prayers until she is all recovered.

Hi class.  I have an issue that I am dealing with and want to know if any of you have been in a similar situation?  Please give me some feedback!

For the last 45 years  I am a 5% owner if a land partnership of 300 acres. 20% shares are for each of 4 doctor friends.  The last 20% belongs to our family: 2 brothers-in-law, 1 sister-in-law, and my ex who gave me his share in our divorce.

Oldest brother-in-law died and is represented by his oldest daughter.  Sister-in-law died and left her daughter to represent her.  Ex brother-in-law #2 is not signing our contract to sell property. I represent myself.

Yesterday we received a contract to sign.  95% owning partners signed.  Buyers want to know what to do about 5% owner who hasn't signed and is thinking about it.  No matter what he agrees to at the moment, he changes his mind and wants to charge more.  Now he says he will take it to his brother (my ex-husband, lawyer) and see what he thinks about it.  Says he will not let us know what he thinks.  If he chooses to sign it is none of our business.

Yesterday he emailed all of us partners that he agreed with us.

Today.......nothing.

What would you do?   Please let me know.   I know we have some realtors out there.

Perplexed!

Linda

Surgery clarification--the 'we' is our son and daughter and myself. The kids came for support.  By the time surgery was finished a little after 10 PM, we were all pretty wiped out.  Today, recovery has been a little slow, but I think a lot of that is attributable surgery delays (about 9 hours that resulted in recovery delays).  When we went in this AM she had 8 intravenus bottles connected and dispensing various solutions into her system.  When we left this PM, there were only intravenous bottles in operation.  The staff does not seem overly concerned, but we the family would like instant healing (nice dream).  Thanks again for your prayers.  I think this is a good first step in a long process.

David,  Thanks for the clarification on the "we".   My late husband had by-pass in 1985.  I know a lot of surgeries are done as outpatient these days.  But hadn't known anybody recently that has had that done.  And I couldn't imagine that by-pass was one of them.

It is really scary seeing all those tubes and bottles after surgery, I remember that well.  But with each day, hopefully, they were be discontinued as she begins the recovery process.

Still praying for her and your family.

Surgery update--  Sandy got up and walked some today--then was transfered out of ICU to ambulatory.  She could be coming home the first of the week.  I will post more info as major steps are reached.  I expect this to be a fairly lengthy recovery (2-3 months) so I will not bore you with a daily diary of details.

Thank you for all your prayers and support.

Linda --

I agree with Ann and any other Realtor who tells you -- you need an attorney. I wouldn't even ask a Realtor on this one. Just get an attorney.

Thank you.  I figured that as realtors, some of you have run into a situation before.  I did contact a Real Estate Attorney.  It worked.  He signed.  Probem solved.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Love ya, Linda

David- Sounds like Sandy is making good progress. So glad to hear it. I hope her recovery and rehab continues to go well. Thanks for the update.

Although I may not respond often I read this site everyday and enjoy all the updates.

I know a lot of you are probably ready for fall but I am not because that means winter isn’t far behind. I am a summer and sunshine girl.
