Julie:

Hi!  Actually it takes me 19 hours to drive to Bloomington.  However, since my knee replacement, it is difficult for me to sit still, comfortably, in  a car for more than one hour.  I no  longer drive out of town.  I have difficulty sitting still to fly also.  But, flying is faster.  I have to use a wheelchair at the airport to get to and from the gates.  Otherwise, I'm getting around well.  I am still working and I'm happy about that.  It is so good for me to get up and go to work and make my brain work.   I find that I am happiest while I am busy.

You're always welcome at my house!

Love ya, Linda

Julie...  I'm sure there are others in the class with tatts.  They just have to speak up.  I have only 1 above my left ankle.  Been there for about 35 years.  It is an Orca whale's tail. Have been thinking about covering it up with a Kokopelli if that is possible.  May talk to a tattoo artist one of these days.

Happy Birthday!

Max:  Kokopeli is a big deal here and into the Mimbres area of the Rio Grande!  You surprised me with mentioning him.

Love ya, Linda

A CALL FOR BIRTHDAY VOLUNTEERS!!!

Hey everyone, I've been doing the birthday announcements for just over a year and have no problem continuing except for one thing: Tomorrow I begin a series of major dental surgeries that could take several weeks or more to complete. I'm hoping someone might volunteer to take over for awhile. Following in Suzi's wonderful and caring footsteps was challenging, but it has actually been fun to watch as we all reach 75.

I'm doing my last birthday post today, a few days in advance, which makes May 10 the next one. If anyone is interested in taking over, please give us a head's up. If not, maybe everyone will take notice of the birthday list on the Home Page and post your individual greetings to celebrate as those dates arrive.

Many thanks and many hugs to all of you.

Mel

Picture of granddaughter being air lifted after injuring her ankle mount San Jacinto peak in Southern California.  She was hiking the length of California when she got hurt.  Her ankle is broke so she had to come home.  That's her dangling from helicopter.

Thanks Linda.  She's doing okay just upset

because she didn't finish the hike.  I think

she was hiking to the California Oregon

state line.

For those of you interested in McLean County History there is a new section on their website called "Home Town in the Corn Belt".   This was published in 1950 by Clara Louise Kessler.  It has 5 volumns, 171 Articles, 39 Biographical sketches. That's 1500 pages of local history. Before being digitized it was only available at the Museum Library and the Bloomington Public Library.  It has been digitized and made possible for all to see thru their website because of a memorial gift in Milan Jackson's name and is listed as being in his memory.  I've started reading it and finding it very interesting.

Thank you for that info on the McLean County History.  I will look into it!

You last posted 12 days ago regarding oral surgery.  I hope you're doing well!  We haven't heard from you.  Question: Are your lips swollen or not?

Seriously............I hope you are healing well!
