Hope ya'll survived Halloween !  Spent my eve with 5 youngest grandkids trick or treating!  Can't resist a couple cute pics from last night ...  4 yr old Ivan as UPS man with his own name embroidered on the pocket and 16 mo old Annie as "Raggety Ann"  both in hand made costumes by their other grandma. Can't believe Annie stood still long enough to capture that photo!

Jim, those photos are fabulous. Standing still seems to be a problem for these kids. Got to visit my granddaughter yesterday and came away with a couple of gems. She and her mother were dressed as characters from the Power Puff Girls. Don't ask, because I have no idea who they are. But still, it was a gift to be part of the whole thing. Notice the candy chute in the photo, thanks to the time we are living in. Hope some others might have something to share from their Halloween experience. And, yes, that is me in the background.

Jim & Mel--Good Halloween pix.  We had a fair number of kids come by--especially with the covid and social distancing.  Sorry no pix

Hmmmm-

So we have made it to 11/3/2020.  Tomorrow there shouldn't be any more political ads on tv, radio, etc.  I have really tired of them.

Onward and upward to you all!  May our country and planet be blessed!  I pray that Coronavirus will soon subside!

Here is a toast of grape juice to our class!  I have enjoyed all of your photos and discussions on our site.  Your families are all adorable.  So sorry I can't share photos of my kids and grandkids. I must protect them.

I hope our class is healthier, happier and well loved in this next year!  Be safe!

Love to all,

Linda

It's been way too quiet around here for a week. So for Veteran's Day, I'm going to attempt to liven things up. In 1967, Marv was shipped off to Vietnam at the same time I was heading for Europe to visit all the art museums and history of western civilization. While planning my trip, I got in touch with Bill Rusk who was stationed in Germany when serving in the U.S. Army. He met me in Paris where we shared a hotel room for a week, drank really, really cheap wine, visited the Louvre and went to the Eiffel Tower. The photos below were taken at the top of the tower. Our last stop before parting was a hotel restaurant where we couldn't read a thing in French and unexpectably ended up with a platter of 24 pairs of fried frog legs. Who could have known that would be the coup de grace of our awesome reunion? We remained friends until he died. Would love to hear from others who shared friends after BHS. Bill was one-of-a-kind who returned to Bloomington and became a police officer.

Bill at the gift shop at the top of the Eiffel Tower with a beautifu French girl working the store.

Bill and me on top of Paris. Photo by the girl in the gift shop. Such beautiful memories.

What does everyone have planned for Thanksgiving this year?  It is a different time for us all.

Just wondering.

I forgot to tell you what I am doing!

I am alone.  However, I always celebrate the holidays.

My menu is different this year without a turkey..........as follows:

Syrian Chicken with garlic and mushrooms

Mashed potatoes and gravy

Syrian Beet Salad

Cranberry Fluff with pineapple

Broccoli and Cauliflower mixed together with Hollandaise

Tossed salad with Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil

Homemade bread

Pecan Pie

Cherry Crisp

2 kinds of fudge

That's it.  I will make small servings of everything.  Only cooking one chicken.  But still, I will have a lot of leftovers.  That is what I enjoy most at Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving and gobble gobble to you all!    Linda

Found this clipping when i was looking for something else. it's not the best quality, but worth sharing. It's from the Pantagraph, July 4, 1946. Before the lights went up in the year most of us were born, the Raiders played their home games mostly on saturday afternoons.

Linda I wish you had family there to share all that delicious food you will be making. You won’t have to cook until Christmas! Our two girls and their families will be here for Thanksgiving. Besides them we haven’t associated with anybody else. Of course we do go to the store but there we are just passing people and wearing masks so we have felt safe. Will be glad when the Covid is over but it looks like it will be with us a while unfortunately. Stay well and safe everyone.

Jim your grandchildren are precious and love the costumes!

Mel, I do remember the Power Puff girls. Your granddaughter is getting so big! They grow up way too fast!

Lots of wind today ... here's what we woke up to find

fortunately the tree wasn't taller or we would have had the top of it inside with us!

Rookus:

Sure glad the tree didn't do damage to your home and anyone of your family.  That was a close call!

Be safe!

The tree scraped the  house a lot cracking and chipping the vinyl siding in sevaral places and ripped several of the screens ... amazingly not breaking any of the window glass.  Thank the Lord!!!!

I see that this website is running low on comments.  I suppose you are all getting the shopping accomplished for Thanksgiving dinner.  Please be safe for your holiday!

Blessings to you all!
