Hi you all!

Please let me know how the mini-reunion goes on Thursday.    I still have Saturday stuck in my mind for mini-reunions.  I think because I flew roundtrip based on Saturday reunions.   It is either that or I'm just getting old age brain farts!

Have a great time!

Love to all, Linda

Linda,

It’s definitely brain farts!!  But at our age I think we all have had them.   Sorry you can’t make it this time.

David Long:

I am the FBI Citizens Academy alum.  It was extremely interesting.  They will go over some interesting old cases.  For me, however, there was a case with my first husband, whom, I quickly divorced to get away from him.

On his third marriage, he had the actor, Woody Harrelson's father to assassinate a federal judge in San Antonio.  I was able to see the entire case from their perspective.

I hope you enjoy your experience.

Thanks to all who came to dinner at Gill Street last night. It was a perfect night for us. And no bugs. I wonder who arrenged that? It was great to have Julie and Dave with us, and we can be grateful that Dave is up and around as well as he is. As to the "regulars" who missed -- sorry you couldn't be there. It was a great outing,

The Mini-Reunion last night was attended by 19 of our classmates and 6 guests. Lots of great conversation and bonding including no shortage of hugs and laughter.  Out of area special attendees included Julie Hart (Texas), Dave Long and his wife Dorothy (Kansas) and the one and only "Max" (Wisconsin).

I have posted a video on YouTube for those that would like to see who was there and what we were doing. These are really fun events. It would be great if those that stay on the sidelines would join us in the future.  The next gathering will be Dec 1 at Tony Roma's in Bloomington. Put it on your calendar and make it happen.

Great video, Marv. Thanks for posting.

I want to apologize to Terry Maxwell for accidentally leaving him out when I mentioned our out of state attendees at Gill Street. Sorry, Max, and thanks for coming -- it's always great to see you. And when the stars and teams line up right, we should still do that Indianapolis thing. It's a great time no matter whose colors you're wearing.

Elizabeth Spillman Alex brought this 1962 Pantagraph clipping to the mini-reunion. Thought a few of you might get a good laugh from it. Thanks Liz.

I'm afraid that I must post some sad news about one of our icons.

PILLSBURY DOUGHBOY DIES

It is with a sad heart that I must pass on the following news.  The Pillsbury Doughboy has died.

Please join me in remembering this great icon of the entertainment community.

The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes in the belly.

At the time of his death, he was 71 years old.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin, with dozens of celebrities turning out to pay their respects.

These included Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, The California - Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies and Captain Crunch.

The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded.

Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes.

Despite being a little flaky at times, he still, as a crusty old man, was considered a roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife, Play Dough, two children John Dough and Jane Dough, plus they had one bun in the oven.

He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

It was great seeing everyone and being at  the mini-reunion.  Dorothy and I especially appreciated our afternoon on the lake.  Marv & Judy, Max, Mel - what great friends to see you again and enjoy your company.  Thanks for helping the gimp get in and out of the boat without having a anchor pull him under.  Much appreciated.  Jack Keefe, I checked and found that NO Raiders were injured in the viaduct incident - only an overweight police officer that should have know better than to jump off a 6' wall.  Fortunately it was only an ankle sprain.  Long Life Walton '64, which was well tagged on the wall.  Had Bill practiced his art elsewhere?  Mel, I'll call the next time we're in Chicago so we can both crane our necks to see the lake.  I've checked and Green Spot is not available in Kansas or Missouri.

Friends, please remember that I-70 runs West as well as East and there's room at the Long Manse for those venturing this way. (plus, we know all the great BBQ places)

Hope this finds you all well.  Semper Fi!

Dave, so sorry to hear about the Pillsbury Doughboy. He was like a member of the family. Your post reminded me of the Abbott and Costello bit on loafing. Take a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRs37ugCxyM

The reason you couldn't find the vodka...it's name is Green Mark (or Zelyonaya Marka in Russian). Google it and you'll find many references and ratings (which are very high).

Would love to see you in Chicago anytime.
