Hi Everyone and a Belated Happy Birthday to all those I missed in my absence and an Early Happy Birthday to those I may miss in my upcoming absence. I've become somewhat busy recently - I'm now on the Board of Directors for a charitable organization that provides temporary housing and meals to homeless families and homeless women in our county and have taken on the responsibility of to chair the fundraising campaign for next year. I've also just been elected to Officers of the Knights of Columbus with duties of Recorder, Faith Director, and Vocations Chairman.
Other than that, not too much going on. It was hotter in Kansas City than it was in Phoenix yesterday. The Royals continue to be a losing team this year. Small market team that trades / sells the best players - owners came from Walmart, so what do you expect. Hopefully they'll trade Hammel - he's got a great house in a great location that we'd be happy to move to if it ever comes on the market.
Linda - thanks for asking. The leg has been pretty stable, although it did fall off at lunch yesterday when we were out with friends. More funny than embarrassing - how many people can say they were out for lunch and their dining companion's leg fell off? At a meeting on Tuesday evening and at about 9:30 I said to the guys - here's a comment you probably don't hear every day - I've got to head home and take my leg off! It had been on since 6:30 that morning and after 12 hours it gets kind of tiring lugging the 24 lbs of dead weight around.
That's in in a big nut shell! Look forward to catching up again soon and hope to make the December Mini-Reunion.
