I knew Paul from attending Sheridan School.  He always had a smile on his face.  In looking at the list of class mates that was provided several years ago along with addresses etc.  Paul is listed as deceased.

As I remember he is Ella's older brother.  Sure hope he is still well.

From what I can find, he was Richard Frederick Wilson, son of Harrold B and Alice Wilson. Does anyone know if this is true?

The Paul Murphy I found is 2 years older than he should be for this class. He has a sister named Ella Mae Murphy Saylor Riggs. He had an older brother Ronald L. Murphy. Can this be right?

Could Paul Murphy have married Jean Carver, daughter of Odie Carver?

David, I'm sorry that you are having a time with the new limb. The Dr's. should be able make the necessary  adjustments so that you are more comfortable.

Without getting into a long conversation about RVN, I have to disagree with the assesment of the USMC. We were positioned next to a company of Marines and those poor guys had NOTHING! Their uniforms were rags. Their boots were rotten and falling apart. They carried the old M-14.Their command would not see to it that they even had decent chow! They survived by the grace of the Army, Air Force, ARVN'S, and the Austrailians. They had to rely on begging for everything! Is that what made them "Bad Ass"? Their vehicles were junk and never performed, due to NO parts. They were forced to live like pigs. I guess that when they got back state-side, they did have cute Dress-Blues.    "SEMPER FI ?"   Guess they lived off of the Navy!

Now my question is can this husband be our Paul Murphy? He has a sister named Ella Mae.

Mel loved the picture. It brings back so many memories. I remember Rich Wilson very well. But unfortunately don’t know what happened to him after school.

David I hope the doctors get your new leg fitted properly sooner rather than later. How disappointing to wait for something and find out it doesn’t work. So glad your friend is doing better. Hopefully he will return to being your golf partner next year.

It has been confirmed that Richard Wilson passed away on 10/18/2005 but no other details. When I find the obituary, I will post it under our In Memory section. Thanks for the help folks.

Milan, so glad you finally found out about Richard Wilson. Thanks for fact checking and keeping us informed.

Dave, you have such a natural ability to descibe the things and experiences that affect your life. I absolutely admire the positive way your family pulls together. And, for what it's worth, your sense of humor in detailing the struggles that would challenge anyone else is both refreshing and inspiring. Hope they get all the kinks worked out. Would love to see you on one of your visits to Chicago.

For anyone interested, I have the Oakland School photo in higher-res than Raiders64 accepts and would be happy to email it to you. Send be a personal message with your email address and I'll forward it to you.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! A cartoon in this morning's Tribune noted that, "without kids, there would be no mothers." LOL

I hope we have a great turn out tonight.  It’s at cheeks at

Terry (Max) Maxwell

Hello to all.  Hope you have a great turnout.  Someone please buy Mel a drink.  Since I couldn’t be there he said he would drink for both of us.  Buy it for him so I don’t get drunk and have a headache in the morning!  Enjoy the evening.

Melvin (Mel) Theobald

Max, you're off the hook until August. I'm having car issues and had to change plans. I won't be there tonight and informed Marv that he has to drink for all 3 of us.

Hope everyone has fun at Cheeks.

Please think of Jim and Allida tonight. They're having a terrible time after losing their granddaughter Kendall on Mother's Day.

Thank you everyone for your thought and prayers. This is a nightmare we won’t wake up from. A bright ray of sunshine has gone out of our lives. That girl had so much to give to the world. Fly high Kendall.

This post is with very mixed feelings. Our mini-reunion at Cheeks last night was a very joyfull time of friendly conversation and sharing of stories with the 25 classmates and spouses attending. It is hard to be too exuberant about such a nice event when other classmates are suffering so severely from their recent losses. Speaking not only for myself but for those who expressed their sentiments at the event last night, our hearts go out to the Eddings family and to Annie for the loss of Mike. Also, to the Altemus family for the loss of a beautiful granddaughter in such a tragic way. This has been a very sad week. These class events, for those of us that participate, seem like such an important means of showing that we are all connected and care for each other. By staying connected we share the happiness and the sadness of these life events together.

I am deeply saddened by the recent losses to all. My thoughts and prayers are with Annie , the Eddings Family, Alida and all her family. Although I seldom comment, I come to our website daily and am glad to keep up with some of you through it.  I am sorry to miss the August reunion as we are headed up there the May 26 - June 2 for graduation. I will be in Bloomington May 30 and June 1 if anyone would like to meet.

David Long:   I did receive your note, delivered to my in-box. I apologize that I have not yet responded. I intend to write an Re very soon. I agree that our classmates probably don't want to share in our exploits. It was a long time ago, but it was something that affected all of us and seems to linger, even after more than 50 years. You remain in my thoughts. I wish you well.

Mike
