Suzi:

I know what you mean.   I am living on a diet now and exercising twice per day, at 5:30 in the morning and before dinner at night.

My nemisis is chocolate.(Oh if only we could still get Katydids, I would be in big trouble.)

Have a great day!

Love ya, Linda

Linda (et al): Everyone in our cass has long passed the 7-0 threshold. It is natural for us to want to hang on to our youth and to appear young, handsome, or beautiful. Ain't gonna happen! We have aged, but we have acquired wisdom and experience. We have a lot to pass on to the generations that follow us. I would love to be the hen-house rooster, but that time has passed. Physical beauty is nice, but I've learned to look beyond those things. Heart and soul are attractive to me. I've been single for almost 30 years. What would I do with a bimbo? We need to be who we are and share love with each other. That is what matters to me. I'm sure that a few pounds,or a little less hair, really don't matter, as long as our partner's heart beats in rhythm our own. I'll take a warm hug any day of the week.

Please excuse all mis-spelled words.

Mike:

How kind you are!  But............shove it!   I will stay on my own damn diet, thank you very much!

I went for 12 years with a bum knee that helped get me to this size.............plus eating sweets!

I have to look at myself in the mirror.   I don't give a rat's behind what other people think.  I have to be particular with myself..............because that is my MO.

While I have your attention..........let me tell you what I just did on last Sunday:

I sent a video entry in to PBS to try to get my own cooking show.  They will announce winners in May.  We'll see if I am selected.

What the heck...........the worst thing they can say is no.

Have a great day and keep up those good manners and the chivalrous bit!

Blessings to you and your's!

Linda

Well Linda, I talk too much! I always look forward to reading what you have to say.

Kudos to you for having the courage to take that leap and submit your video to PBS. I hope that you are selected. It's good to be a do'er rather than being a deamer. How did the FBI thing work out for you? Enjoy all of that El Paso sunshine. We haven't had much of it here in B/N

Spring is just around the corner - time changes this weekend and the 2018 Mini-Reunions have been scheduled (See Home Page for details). We had a great turnout for our Dec gathering and look forward to even more participation at this years events. These gathering are always very relaxed and everyone enjoys the conversation with old friends or the having the opportunity to share stories with those you may not have known from HS. Please consider joining us. All classmates are cheerfully invited It is a great opportunity to get reconnected.

Linda, I forgot all about the Golden Crumbles. Now I want both the Golden Crumbles and the Katykids. Can’t stop thinking about them. Good for you for trying to get your own cooking show. That would be awesome!

Mike, I agree with what you said about aging and looks. I know I feel a lot younger in my mind than I look but that is okay with me. As long as I continue to feel young in spirit I am good. The people I work with are much younger than I am but they have never made me feel old and I feel truly blessed by that. They are a great bunch to work with.

Wow! 1/2 of our class must have been born in the winter! Do you suppose our parents were frisky back in the day?

03/12/18 11:40 PM #6635

Melvin (Mel) Theobald

Mike, you raise a very interesting question. The Second World War ended on Sept, 2, 1945. When the GI's began returning home, most of us so called Baby Boomers were born in the months that followed. So it is no accident that most of us came into extistence nine months later. How many of us are the offspring of returning soldiers? Did any of your parents ever talk about that?

03/13/18 10:04 AM #6636

Linda Bristow (Elias)

My parents were too old.  Mel, being the youngest of 9 kids, my brothers fought in WWII.

Thank you for the birthday wishes.  My husband and I had a quiet day at home.  Dave also turned 72 yesterday.

I just thought that it was a silly comment to bring to the attention of our classmates. I would imagine that most of us are parents and grandparents. Perhaps we should be happy that our parents found each other and brought us into this world. What intrigues me the most, is that at 70+, we have become what our parents once were and we are now experiencing what they had to endure. Remember when we thought that we knew everything? Growing up is a rough journey, but reflecting back.......I've loved it. Being frisky was fun too!
