Hi Mel:

In Mrs. Durflinger's class, the first person on the left of the top row was Margarita ??  I can't remember her last name.  She lived on Locust and walked home with me several times.

Linda -- pretty sure it was Margarite (Margarita) Craig. She didn't finish school with us, and I wonder what became of her.

Jack:

She was new from Mexico.  Her last name was something like Mendoza or Mendes.

Boo, your grandkids are really cute.  How old are they?

looks like they are having a blast in the snow!!

Terri Baxter (Whirrett)

Suz, Amelia is 12 and Katie is 9. They are very happy because with one flake of snow in SC, school is out! They are both tall for their age.

I am not trying to panic anyone but several of you have not checked the box in your details in your profile. That means that the public can see all of your personal info. My advice to you is to either ask an administrator to do it for you or go to your Edit Profile and look for the box  "

Profile Visibility:
Block Profile Visibility: Block the public and search engines from accessing my Profile and allow only fellow Classmates to view my Profile details. Leave this box unchecked if you also wish to allow the public (friends, co-workers, family members, etc.) to view your Profile details.

Love looking at the BJHS pictures.  It took me a long time to find my home room and then I was startled to see myself!  Anybody else have that reaction?

Boo I thought they looked like they are pretty tall.

Thanks Jack.  I went in and fixed my profile.

Marv:

When are you going to set the new Mini-Reunion dates?

I need the info for August, 2018, please.

Thank you for all that you do!

Number 18!

What you ask is Number 18?

It's not years being married - that would be 38.

It's not the number of grandkids - that would be 2.

It's not the age of one of our daughters - that would be 34 & 36.

It's not the number of putts that I took on my last round of golf - my twitter account is @deathbyputter for a reason.

It's not the temperature in Kansas City today - that's a balmy 53 which is great for January in the midwest.

So What Is It?  After next week, it will be the number of surgeries I'll have had on my left "knee".  Yep, another surgery, this time to remove a painful growth on the end of the stump and to file / shave down the bone.

PLEASE keep me in your prayers - I really need them right now.

For all those who's birthdays / anniversaries / and other special occasions I've missed -

BELATED CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Dave, you didn't fool me one bit. First thing I thought was, "OMG, Dave's going for the world record on that bum knee of his." Have you checked with the people at Guiness? 18 inches is just shy of the world record for the longest chest hair ever measured, so I ruled that out immediately. (Don't ask how I know that!) Still, there are some things you don't want to be famous for and that's one of them.

If it helps, the entire Raiders64 community is rooting for you and hoping this one will do the trick. You have all the right tools and numbers in your favor, save the putting problem. We expect to see you at one of the mini-reunions this year, whenever that is. So, keep us posted.

Dave, Jim and I are wishing you a speedy recovery and hoping this is the last surgery you will ever need on this  knee. Good luck.

Dave:

Maybe your leg is trying to grow back!

I pray that this is the last surgery for you!

Putting you in my evening prayers.

Blessings to you.

My leg growing back?  That could explain why I’ve been ‘crabby’ lately. 😋

David, I'm sorry to hear that you're still having to struggle with your medical issues. I was hoping that you had turned the corner with the infections, especially after radical surgery. I'm sure that all of your old classmates wish you well, as I do. Please keep us informed.

It is with great sadness that I have to tell you of the loss of another classmate. Pat Rosenbaum passed away yesterday. Judy, Mel and I have been very close to Pat since my return to Bloomington in 2007. She loved music and was always fun, funny and a true friend with a gigantic heart. We will miss her very much.

Details are not clear yet but Pat worked at IWU and called in sick with the flu Wednesday. She did not call in Friday and someone from IWU went to her house to check on her and found her Friday evening.
