Thanks Max. I'm going to have to visit my car dealer and get a tune-up on my brain. Seems like the oil needs changing as well. Appreciate the correction. As before I'll fix the original post.

Hi everyone, Loved the mini reunion! Since the turn out was so good at this one let's see if the December one can be even bigger. Can't wait. I too didn't get a chance to talk with everyone but sure enjoyed the people I did get to talk with. Wish it could have been more. Linda will be looking forward to seeing you in a year. Mel it was great reliving memories of Oakland School. It would be great if we could take a tour of the school sometime to see how it has changed. Lots of good memories. Hope to see everyone in December. Everyone put it on your calendars.

It was great to see such a good turnout last week. We had some that had never been to a mini-reunion before. Hopefully future gatherings will be as well attended and as much fun. Attached are a few pics from the event. For those that have not been to any gatherings in awhile can you recognize everyone?

I just checked out the itenerary for Dave Long's cruise. Wow - what a trip! I would love to see some of those places but am not willing to spend all of that time on a cruise ship. I like land too much. Sounds like a great adventure.

It made me very happy to know that Linda and Ernie visited Jean Holcomb. She was our next door neighbor for a number of years including the time you had her in 4th grade. She has remained a life long friend. I make a point of seeing her regularly and know it meant a lot to her to have you visit. She has fond memories of all of you that had her in the 4th grade and would welcome any of you who might wish to visit her at Westminster Village.

Linda, another name to add to the list...Whitey Wilder is Judy McLean's husband. Max noticed him in the photos Marv posted. That brings the count up to 36. I like Allida's idea of making the Dec. mini even larger. There were about 10 or 12 regulars who weren't there. Add Mike Franks and a few other newcomers and we could easily top that number.

Great pictures!  I just wish I recognized more of the people.  Maybe large print name tags would help.

That particular weekend in August we always have a family obligation in Des Moines, Ia.  Called grandson's birthday.

Larry Cotton,  hope you have a wonderful Birthday!  Thinking of old times -  where you shaved twice to make sure there was no stubble    With a little Choctaw DNA, i still can't grow a beard, but am pretty sure that you could have a full Manchu at the drop of a razor

Howdy, all y'all,  I did spend a lot of time working in the south when I was actually working  FYI, the best ribs in the USA (even though I live in KC) is a place called Dreamland just outside of BAM.  I'd like to suggest a 'Major Mini-reunion next March  how about a trip from Honolulu to Miami through the Panama Canal ?  Surely I'm not the only one with that on my bucket list.  I'm planning on being able to walk unaided by then, and there's a lot of great things to see and do, from Salsa Making / Dancing to cliff divers on Mexico to Hemingways home in Havana   Would be great to have a bunch of Eaiders on the trip  PAX, Dave

I wonder how many viewed the solar eclipse?  We had 94% coverage in Seattle.  Started at 9:07 And was finished at 11:30!   A real thrill to see.  Could view it from our back deck.

Wendy:

El Paso, TX had a few minutes of decent viewing between rain clouds.  However, my daughter and her family paid an old farmer to be able to camp in their pasture to enable them to be in the line of totality in Wyoming.  I was praying that the grizzlies wouldn't be in their area for a few days!

I made the mistake of teaching my kids not to be afraid of anything!  If I get to have another life, I'm going to change that approach!

Nice to see you on line Wendy.  Blessings to you and your family!

Love ya, Linda

Richard (Rich) Crusius

We viewed the eclipse, too, from our front yard along with John and SueEllen Concklin and their daughter Missy.  SueEllen, maiden name Gentry, was in the BHS class of 1965.  John is the same age as we are and went to Trinity..... played football and basketball there.  Hope you all enjoyed the eclipse as much  as we did! Hope we are all still around to see the next one... in 2024.

Hi Wendy, We had total coverage in St. Peter's, MO. Our office closed for two hours so all employees could participate in the event. I was even able to leave for the day and Jim and I watched it from our deck. Great experience.
