I would like to see how many of our 4th grade class from Washington Elementary that we might get together to visit Mrs. Holcomb when I'm in Bloomington for the Mini-reunion in August.  Of course we need to make prior arrangements so that we won't be overwhelming to her at her present age.

I know how to contact Gene Fuller.   Don't know how to reach John Shambock, Gary Toole, Linda Keeler.

I know how to reach Lynn Bishop.

Any suggestions...........y'alllllllll?

Linda

Linda- A. Gridley Antiques on E.Front across from the old Central Station Restaurant is the BEST!  We spend many happy hours there.  They are open to the public on Friday & Saturday.  Hugs, Patty Lehr

Daylight Savings Time returns this Sunday at 2 a.m. Be sure to set your clocks ahead one hour. (You'll get that lost hour of sleep back when we change the clocks in the fall.)

Jack Habich, die hard Bear fan,

Wow Jack,  First Rudy Bukich, now Billy Wade. What's up with our all time heros? I remember living and dying with those guys in '63. Kicked the Giants' ass. Are we getting old?

RIP, Bill and Rudy.

Hip Hip Hooray and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to SUZI, PAUL & DIANNE !!!

You've pulled off the Raiders version of the "Hat Trick."

Mike, I didn’t even know Bukich died until I saw this.  Billy Wade had a rough go of it for the last several years.  For one thing, he’s been blind since 2002.  I remember talking to him as we were both (and a couple of other people I didn’t know) in a squat position on Daytona Beach, Spring Break 1965.  He was with some sort of Christian outreach mission trying to straighten us out, I guess.

Here is Billy in 1961, explaining to Ditlka that he will throw this ball and Ditka needs to catch it.

Thanks for that picture Jack. Ditka hasn't changed. Looks like he's flapping his jaw. He was never a very good coach, but he was exactly what the Bears needed and at the right time. If he could have just shut-up, he'd have had a lot of great years as Bears coach. Guess that applies to a lot of us?

I see Mike Manahan once in a while. He's still involved in HS wrestling. Not coaching, but was very instrumental in organizing this year's HS tournament. He does a lot of work in the Heyworth school system.

You analyze Ditka pretty well, Mike. He was not Paul Brown or Bill Walsh, whose protรฉgรฉs sat at their feet and went on to win Super Bowls. I always chuckle when thinking about a Buddy Ryan comment of about 20 years ago. When asked about his communication with Ditka during his years in Chicago, Buddy said โ€œI put the defensive plan on his desk every Fridayโ€ฆ.not that he understood itโ€. Still, he brought motivation that particular year, and was the head coach when they won. He was a character that became larger than life with SNL skits and more.

And talking about Mike Manahan and coaching, I was happy to see and talk to Jim Bowers in 2014, when I was down there.

Ladies:

Have any of you checked with Diane Gardner lately?  I understand that she had some shoulder surgery.    How is she doing now?

Please let me know.

Thanks.
