Congratulations Dave and Dorothy!!!

I'm with Jetton, two children in their 30s and not a single grandkid. Oh, did I mention that my Mom and Marv's was a cloistered nun. I'll bet I am a great grandfather before my kids have their own, but that's another story. LOL

Dave & Dorothy...

Congrats on your first grandchild.  He's a cutie.  Glad they named him after your dad... now he will have to be a loyal Cubs fan to keep up the tradition!  Oh well, everyone has a burden of some sort.  I just had my fifth grandchild on May 20th and he is as awsome as the other 4.  For me, grandkids complete the circle of life.

Congratulations again and spoil him rotten,

Max

It's great to see guys taking such an interest in grand children.  It is such a blessing and so rewarding

to see the grand kids being raised well and  knowing we must have done something right with our kids

to have such a blessing of wonderful grand children to spoil, enjoy, encourage, teach, have fun with, and after wearing us out....send them home.  Have three of them 4 and under in the pool as I type having fun with

"nannie and papa"

We have six grandkids ages 13 to 23 years of age. Three of them are triplets which has been so much fun. I didn't like it at first when they started growing up but each stage is special and unique and just as much fun as the previous one. Yes grandchildren are a blessing and a joy.

Thanks Milan. Back in school, summer vacations seemed like forever. Now, these birthdays pass like the Burma Shave signs, which most people probably remember.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK!

BURMA SHAVE

Yep... I remember 'em.  Sorry I missed your birthday yesterday,

So Max, you're the creative genius behind those old Burma Shave signs?  The Robert Frost of highway poetry? Who would have thought.

Sorry the super highways killed such a promising future.  I'm honored to get birthday greetings, even if late, from a man of your caliber.

Here is another example of your work:

Hmmmm.    Out information here shows a 'Land Hurricane' with 60-80 mph winds this afternoon in the Midwest.  The west/ central edge of Illinois is included in the info.   Says.......a lot of large hale, etc.

Hope everyone is safe.

Linda

Thanks for the birthday greetings, Linda.

Biggest danger here tonight, for me at least, is allergies.

Jack:

Yesterday we had 109 degrees.   Although it is supposed to be 107 today.......we're fearful that it will hit 110.

This time of year....I dread.

Have a great day!

Today's Pantagraph - Page A6 - Jack's HOW TIME FLIES column - June 4, 1964.

June 4, 1964: Graduating classes will grow now that baby boomers are finishing high school. Last night BHS graduated another record class, totaling 333 members. It was a far cry from 1939: the school building was new, and these kids knew the old one as their junior high school.

Hi folks -- we're still collecting snapshots of our high school days for the reunion. We've got some good ones but need more. Please dig around for yours and send them to me at jkeefe@cbhoa.com. I'll start editing in late July. The result will be a slide show on saturday night (think weddings and funerals if you're having trouble visualizing). Thanks to those who have already contributed. See you in August!

Happy Birthday, Jack.  Sorry to be late to the party.

To all the congratulations on Baby Oscar - thank you all!

i don't think I realized how much my life would change because of an 8lb package of joy.

Hey David, congratulations on Baby Oscar.

Thanks for the birthday greeting. I now understand why you were late and my envelope hasn’t arrived in the mail yet.

This year, at this point, you might as well use the money you were allocating for me and get Oscar a nice baby gift.

Great idea, Jack!  I know Oscar will appreciate the 529 savings plan when he's ready for college.

Linda Bristow (Elias)

Hi everyone.   It looks like I won't have much extra time when I come back to the reunion.   Pretty much....I'll have to show up and leave.   It will be a quick turn-around.   Was so hoping I would have more time.

Linda

Allida Frisch (Altemus)

That is too bad. You will just have to make the most of the time you have. Will you be there Friday night or just on Saturday?

06/20/14 08:54 AM #4490

Linda Bristow (Elias)

Allida:

It looks like I'll be there Saturday from 6pm to 9pm.  Looking forward to seeing everyone.   I know that Mary Mullins is looking forward to seeing you especially!

Linda

Allida Frisch (Altemus)

I am looking forward to seeing both you and Mary. I have not seen Mary since 1996 when both my daughters got married. I know your visit will be short but at least you get to come and we will make the most of it. Enjoy your weekend!
