HAPPY HOLIDAYS and NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!!!

Annie, I love your invitation for all to get in here with their greetings. Sadly, I have lately become one of the "lurkers" (as Mike called them).

Over the past several years, I feel privileged to have re-met so many of our old classmates. The reward of participating here is the remakable gift of friends who care about each other. Many thanks to all of you who are sharing so much. It is wonderful that you have kept your sense of humor, a trait which will forever mark the treasured legacy Sue has left for us. Part of the joy during these Holidays is celebrating these many frienships and reflecting on the fond memory of those we have lost.

The August mini-reunion was one of the greatest events of this past year for me. It served as a reminder of how important we all are to each other.

And, if anyone wants to have a good Holiday laugh, may I suggest that you listen to Krista Detor's song "Somewhere in Montana There's a Santa with a Gun".

Mike,

Actually, BHS got a lot better in wrestling in later years, kind of becoming the old Pekin, or new Pekin..........or Piken as Victor likes to call it.

BHS has a great web page, and their sports history links are quite thorough, especially wrestling..then football and track.  I'll find it and sent the link to you.  I had posted it for Rod some months ago.

Roger "The Flea" Nelson wrestled at 95 lbs. .....he grew up to be well over twice that.

I saw the other day where BHS was ranked 8th in the State.  We were never in that league as a team in our day....but we more than held our own under the circumstances of an inadequate training facility etc.

Mike,

Here is your link to the BHS web page    http://www.district87.org/bhs/

You can just follow the prompts.  For sports, go to Activities, then Athletics, then pick your sport.  The "history" section is usually the most interesting for our age group, since that is pretty much what we have to deal with when it comes to sports. :)

Great idea Annie.  So... I would like to wish everyone in the Class of 64, in our estimation, the greatest class to ever roam the halls and conquer the classrooms (or visa versa) of good old BHS, a very Merry Christmas and a Super 2012!!!  Hoping you all have a healthy next year.     .......Max.......

Not that I needed a prompt as I was going to do it anyway - but I want to wish everyone a safe, happy, healthy  Merry Christmas.  Christmas has become so commercialized that we forget the real meaning, that being time spent with family and friends, not gifts.  We are all blessed in so many ways.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year as we remember the Reason for the Season!  Be safe with your travels and enjoy your families.  As we sit looking out our window the snow is so beautiful covering the mountains and Pikes Peak. It reminds us of how SPECIAL Life really is and how grateful we are for being a part of this great USA! We are so grateful for all of you and continue to remember all those who have passed before us!

Also, thank you Mel, for sharing the entertaining video!

Cheers to 2012!

Happy Holidays to each and every one of you!  I wish each of you a joyous holiday season filled with FAMILY, FOOD, and FUN!!!  We will be in Healdsburg, CA with five of our kids and their families.  I can hardly wait.

When I look back on 2011 one of the best things has been reconnecting with the fantastic members of the Class of 64.  Thank you all for enriching my life!

Safe travels and Happy New Year!!

Season’s Greetings to everyone. Special year end thanks goes to all who have contributed to this site, either verbally or financially, or both, making this a viable entity.  Without you, everything would be moot.

I wanted to share with you a note I received with a Christmas card from a friend of ours. (They are our age)

This lovely lady has had breast cancer and survived.  She has had several  brain surgeries , the third one causing a stroke that  left her with  little use of one arm and some other problems.

It amazes me how spirIted and upbeat she and her husband are.

How lucky we all  are when we have  good health.

And how blessed we are to have friend like this!

Merry Christmas to all and a very Happy New Year !!!

Wishing you all a happy holiday and prosperous new year.  I've enjoyed getting more involved with the class this year, renewing some old friendships and getting to know some of you a little better.

Also, I enjoy holding on to your money.  I go to the bank and take it out every now and then, just to see what Big Money looks, feels, and smells like.  Then I put it back, so don't worry.

It's been fun watching the website grow like crazy this year.  My gosh, even my reclusive cousin Mike showed up!    Who knows how long he was out there "lurking."   Matter of fact, I guess I've been a "lurker" for a few weeks myself.  Look forward to keeping up with y'all in 2012.

By the way, I'm not trusting this character to give me anything good this year.

Great idea Ann!

Great idea Ann!

Merry Christmas to the Class of 64!

Steve and I just got home from seeing Donny and Marie's Christmas show in Chicago (great show). We will spend tomorrow with the greater Koppenhoefer family in Hudson and then on to Glen Ellyn to have dinner and celebrate Christmas with our children and their families. Christmas seems to come and go all to soon, but I love thus time of year. I have wonderful memories of Christmases as a child and of our own children growing up.

God's blessing on the Class of 64 in the new year!

It has been a tradition for 30 or so years that the family always goes out to dinner on Christmas eve then back home for the unwrapping (Chaos) of gifts.. as time had passed, that includes ALL the family... kids, spouses, grandkids etc... this year Malinda did not feel good enough to go with us... her gut hurt, so she stayed home while I took the tribe to a local restaurant.. She sometimes sleeps almost 20 hours out of the day.. Yesterday she did not go into the office and I think she slept almost all day..

Christmas is now a time of great joy as well as a time of great fear and trepidation...

That said....

Merry Christmas to my Christian friends and Happy Chanukah  to my Hebrew freinds...

Ed

I put Malinda on the prayer list for mass at my church on Christmas Day.   I will also light a candle for her.

Blessings to you and your's.

Ed,

Even though Malinda couldn't be there, I am so glad to hear you joined the rest of your family tonight. It requires a lot of strength for you and Malinda to face "fear and intrepidation", but you both know that your love and that of your children knows no boundaries. Every day matters and this day is just like any other. It is late and I have just returned from one of the best ever evenings with my own children. I wish everyone everywhere could share in this kind of love. Because you do just that, I am confident that you will celebrate every moment you can. As you know, I am not a praying sort of guy, but I treasure the sentiments Linda has expressed and want you and Malinda to know my thoughts are with you on this Christmas day and every day.
