Steve, sounds like you gave me the wrong answer again.  Remember I was going to fly out there and watch?  When you got back, I'm almost positive you said "we won".  Could I be thinking of of the semi finals in Indianapolis?  If so, I'm really getting foggy.

After the answers you gave me in Aikin's geometry class, I don't know what to believe anymore.

Tomorrow morning is breakfast Wednesday. Helen will be there. Let's have a good turnout. Don't let a thunderstorm stop you. :)

I had a great time at breakfast this morning. I got to meet Helen and I got to see an old friend from NCHS, Jim Duncan. Another fellow former Hubbard's employee. They're everywhere. (laugh)

Marilyn  --  It was really great to hear about the Roller Rink from you.  I must admit, at first I couldn't quite put the name with a face.  Then when I went to your profile, I remembered you right a way.  You seem to know a lot about the Rink.  I so loved to go there in the Winter months, when I wasn't ice skating.  Gosh, maybe I even skated with you on Couples Only.  I used to spot some girl who could skate pretty well, then I 'd get her to come skate with me, so we could go pretty fast, pretty smooth, weave around, go backwards, and all that.  Would you happen to remember one of the Rink Guards that worked there for quite some time.  He was older than us and I think his Mom worked at Krogers on Oakland Ave.  He had a sister too.  Kind of a bulky guy.  Real good skater.  He never blew his whistle much, just kind of gave you the look.  I got to know him pretty well, (from skating too fast and cutting in and out), Ha!.  I want to say his last name was Jones.  He was really a nice guy though.  By the way, really love the color combo on your chevy.  If I'm not mistaken, that was an original in '55'.

Rod, I went to the roller rink alot back in the good old days.  The guy you are talking about is Carol Jones brother.  I can't remember his first name.  He was a good skater.

Milan, did alot of people show today for breakfast?

It was fun seeing everyone at breakfast this morning and catching up!  Milan, I enjoyed talking to you in person.  And Dave Rush, gosh we recognized you right away!  Thanks for the suggested route 36 to return to Colorado.  You ARE right!  It is cutting miles off on our return trip.  We're currently at a motel near Colby, KS and will finish our trip home tomorrow morning early.  Good to see all of you!

Thanks for confirming what I thought and also jogging my memory.  I knew Carol, but couldn't remember her name.  At one time, she was married to a good friend and neighbor of mine, Jim Smith.  He is still around town and last time I knew he was living on E. Olive near Denver St.  At one time he worked for TSA and every time we came back to town, I would talk with hm and get the latest on him, his brother, Danny, and what was going on.   Their Mother , Jones, did work at Kroger's on Oakland.  I used to go into that store twice a week at least.  I always went to her register because she would always talk to me about the skating.  She was always very nice and funny.  Like you, I just can't remember the brothers name.

Oh the memories from Steak N' Shake and toolin' the gag!  After we got married I washed all the glasses that we had accumulated, went to the gag, ordered 2 cokes and drank them.  When the curby picked up our tray, the tray was loaded with the clean glasses plus we told him we had a bunch more in our trunk.  Talk about feeling guilty?  Yep, that would be us!

My first day as a curbie at Hubbard's I dumped 4 large orange drinks in the lap of a driver. He wasn't happy but he was cool. :)
