Thank you for fixing my pics to the correct position.  Before I posted them, they were upright, but for some reason, they looked sideways.  I am assuming I have Marvin to thank?  I think the problem was I used the adjustments in Apple Photos to rotate them, instead of using something like Adobe Elements, or other photo program.  If I post more, maybe I'll try my Adobe Elements program instead of Apple Photos to rotate pics.

JAMES,  I watched that one too of the Gaithers singing love songs to their wives.  That was so sweet!  YES, it was Ann Smith!  After I noticed her on Facebook,  I was beginning to see her pop up everywhere, in inexpected places on the internet.   I was beginning to wonder if God was trying to tell me something.  I had not been looking for her at all.  Had not thought of her since I was a little girl in Japan.

I've been thinking alot of my parents lately.  Partly because my adult son moved in with us almost two years ago, and we really didn't have any place for him.  I had been storing  art supplies, canvas, etc. in his old bedroom.  When my dad passed, my stepmother dumped a lot of Dad's papers, albums, etc. wth me.  My son kept bringing out boxes and boxes of things for me to go through. Lots of nostalgia, but NO place to put anything.  We have a small house.  You'd think I was a hoarder.  Then my grandson moved into the basement.

Nancy, it was so fun when you and your husband visited me in Chicago a few years ago. Then, as now, I have great memories of your father. I didn't know that you had lived in Japan prior to coming to Bloomington. Some of our classmates may remember that you dad, Rev. Gerald Weaver, gave the opening prayer at our Class of 1964 graduation. When Marv and I were students in Chicago, he came to stay with us. I have many stories about him, but above all is how open and willing he was to my questions about religion. I will always admire him.

NANCY.....  Nice to know that was the same missionary lady !  We can identify with your dilema having son and grandson living with you.  For some time now our son, wife and two teenage sons have moved in with us.  Fortunately we have a large ranch with the lower level with large windows on 3 sides so it make a very livable 1800 Sq Ft home for them.  The inconvenient part is that it used to be our space, so all our extra storage and junk etc. now has nowhere to go.  Therefore much of it is stuffed in creative spaces up on our level!  My office is such a mess and "dumping ground" for anything without a home of it's own, I do all my work at the dining table!  At times we feel like we can't live our lives quietly alone, but thankful that as parents God gives us the ability to help when needed!  There's an often mentioned joke about when a couple become empty nesters not to get too comfortable because at some point they will come back home!  WE JUST DON'T EXPECT IT TO BE WHEN WE'RE IN OUR 70's! smiley yes

PS:  DAVE .... love those pacifiers !

Happy Resurrection Day!

This is a watercolor painting I did back in 2007 as a commission for a  church in Connecticut. My own son modeled for it.  He happened to be the same age as Jesus was when he was crucified. While I was painting it, it only looked like my son's hands to me, but after I added the nail holes,  it became the hands of Jesus to me. I named it "Heart's Desire".  It is my desre and the scriptures that says in

Romans 10:1. Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved…( and then in verse 9...)

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

May you all have a blessed and wonderful Easter!

Thank you everyone for sharing your flowers and Easter pics with us!

Hello Everyone! I've enjoyed all the messages recently, especially related to Easter. For anyone interested, our church service is at utube, northeast Presbyterian church, April 20. The beginning music and end are wonderful, as is the message. The Hallelujah Chorus at the end is different and led to a standing ovation.
yours truly is in front row in white.
Happy Easter to all! Spring has sprung in SC and so has the pollen!

A belated Happy Easter to all.  I haven't been on the computer in a couple of days.  Much ado about several different items.

For those of you that have seen the movie "CONCLAVE", please pray for the repose of the soul of Sanit Francis and for the Cardinals that will be electing a new Pope, that they are able to select the right person to lead the church.

We currently live across the street for a Burger King.  From our window on the the floor, we can see the rooftop and exhaust from their 'flame broiler'.  There is multiple times daily when white smoke comes out.  We joke that they've just elected a new Pope.  We'll see what happens in the coming days.

Spring is near, if not here already in the St. Louis area.  I saw 2 Hummingbirds at the same time today feeding on the feeders hanging on the porch.  I had seen a few singles Thursday and Friday, but when you see more, that's a good sign.
