RED cars and TICKETS
In my work life I had the Los Angeles sheriffs Department as a client. I'd spend 3-6 days a month locked up - I mean working - with various officers and staff. I had received a ticket in Kansas City the week before and was complaining that I was driving the same speed as the other cars on the road - 36mph in a 30mph zone - and I was singled out and got the ticket. My friend, a LA County Deputy, asked what color car I was driving. It was a Dark Red Honda Pilot. He said I know you've heard the stories about red cars getting ticketed more that others, and just because it sounds like a made-up tale, doesn't mean it's not true. It seems that there are sometimes "quotas" for color, types, make, color of hair of the driver, e.g. Blond Women, etc. Some officers throw $10 into the pot and who ever writes the most tickets based on the criteria wins the week's pot. Strange but true!
Fun Fact - think of the population of Bloomington. Did you know that on any given day there are between 22,000 to 24,000 people incarcerated in the LA County Jails? I haven't checked in a while, but isn't that about 1/2 the population of Bloomington? There are 7 jails in LA County operated by the LASD.
