WENDY..... good to see you again ... it's been a while!
DAVE ..... those pictures do make me reminisce AND feel a bit older !  A few days ago I took an online quiz that popped up with about 60-70 pictures of old items, some as far bac as early 1800's.  They were all multiple choice answers and I got the all correct, most knowing what it was even before looking at the answer choices!  BOY did that make me feel ancient!!!

I've been trying all day to say THANK YOU Jim Rookus for the BIRTHDAY WISH!  I've noticed you have been doing this pretty regularly.  The website has been giving me some password problems today.  Maybe because I haven't been on the site for quite some time. I had some comments to make, but due to the late hour right now, I'll try to get back on tomorrow.

About the father/Son/Mother family--There is an old song--I'm My Own Grand Pa.  The last person I know that recorded it was Ray Stevens. It's worth the listenng if you can find it on the web.

The car in the bottom picture. a Chrysler Fifth Ave, we leased a year before Ron passed away.  I bought it and I kept it for a few years after he died.  The car on the top has been my favorite car. I bought it in 2014 and it is a 2014 Buick LaCrosse.  It has a sunroof and the gear shift between the seats.  Just what I always said I wanted in a car.  It has never been in a shop for repairs, except for last year for something I did.  Then this year the transmission went out.  It has been in the shop for about two months. It only has a little over 66,000 miles on it so I was surprised about that repair.  I have an extended warranty so that pays for it.  I'm hoping to get it back today or soon..  They were working on it Friday, when I called. They did give me a loaner at no charge, so that has been a big help..

Sandy,

I'm sure that extended warranty pretty much paid for itself with the transmission replacement.  Hope you're back in your own ride soon.  I get free loaners from the dealership when I take my car to the dealership, but it's always the newest model and the next step up from what I'm driving now.  Good sales planning.  Last time I took in my Volvo XC60 and was loaned a 4 year newer model XC90 with every conceivable bell and whistle.  Would have been nice except for the price tag.

Sandi .... I've always been on guard when I see a gal driving a RED car !  They tend to be the speeders!  Have a feeling that is not your style !  Hope you're riding in style again soon !!!

Dave ..... Next time get a dog WITHOUT a tail!!!

Sandra Jeakins (Singletary Sizemore)

David, you are right.  The transmission was more than what I paid for the extended warranty.  And the loaner they gave me is a brand new Chevy Equinox with only 24 miles on it.  I love the smell of it.  It rides nice, and maybe they were hoping I would buy one.  But I don't drive enough these days to warrant buying a new car.

David, loved the dog picture. Funny, but oh so true.  I've had a few with long tails so I could relate.

Jim, I have heard that red cars do get more speeding tickets than other color of cars.  But I try not to speed.  I have only had one ticket in my life and that was many years ago.  I was going down a hill and didn't notice my car had gained speed.  I wasn't in a hurry.  In fact, I was early for where I was going and was just taking my time.

RED cars and TICKETS

In my work life I had the Los Angeles sheriffs Department as a client.  I'd spend 3-6 days a month locked up - I mean working - with various officers and staff.  I had received a ticket in Kansas City the week before and was complaining that I was driving the same speed as the other cars on the road - 36mph in a 30mph zone - and I was singled out and got the ticket.  My friend, a LA County Deputy, asked what color car I was driving.  It was a Dark Red Honda Pilot.  He said I know you've heard the stories about red cars getting ticketed more that others, and just because it sounds like a made-up tale, doesn't mean it's not true.  It seems that there are sometimes "quotas" for color, types, make, color of hair of the driver, e.g. Blond Women, etc.  Some officers throw $10 into the pot and who ever writes the most tickets based on the criteria wins the week's pot.  Strange but true!

Fun Fact - think of the population of Bloomington.  Did you know that on any given day there are between 22,000 to 24,000 people incarcerated in the LA County Jails? I haven't checked in a while, but isn't that about 1/2 the population of Bloomington?  There are 7 jails in LA County operated by the LASD.

Fying high at the Air Zoo today with a bunch of the Grandsons

Nancy Weaver (Cupp)

Where is the air zoo?  In Ohio we have Wright Patterson Air Force Base museum in Dayton.  Imagine my surprise when we visited there a few years ago, and I walked into an area about Japan, and saw the very sign over the entrance gate to Itazuki Air Force base.  I went through that exact gate many times everytime we entered or left the air force gate.  I had my ninth birthday while living at Itazuki Air Force Base, when my dad, Rev. Weaver, was a chaplain there.  I loved the Japanese people.   They were so kind, to me anyway.  Of course they were mostly Christians that my dad knew from his ministry.  We also knew the missionaries there.  I was on Facebook this year, February, and saw a post about a birthday celebration for a missionary who turned 100 years old.  She remained very active in ministry and was beloved by everyone at Anderson University.  Bill Gaither and his gang were at her celebration and sang to her.  It turns out she was the same missionary that we knew in Japan back in 1953-54.  I got so excited that I asked the person who posted it, more about her, and he gave me her phone number.  I called her and she remembered dad! Shes one hundred years old!

I have the same issue, Nancy.  Used to have no problem posting a photo but the last time or two I could not.
