Marv, your great granddaughter is indeed gorgeous! Not just saying that! Those eyes! Just precious! Next, do have an address for Mrs Holcomb? Would like to send her a card. She was a favorite!  Update on me,doing great! Finished PT this week, so now I must go back to gym . I have gained back muscle and therefore weight🤪, and stamina much better as well. No pain except in my elbow, therefore not back at golf yet. I truly feel i received a miracle of fast healing! Again , thanks to you all for phone calls, cards, flowers! Sure felt loved and could feel the prayers!

Marve...  Thanks so much for getting a Sandy, Jack, Judy and You together for an impromptu breakfast as we passed through Bloomington !  It was so great a time to get reaquainted with ya'll after so many years.  My wife Carol really enjoyed our time together too!  In retrospect it really made me sorry that I did not attend the last two reunions!  Thanks too for all you work to keep this forum going and administrating the site!  ALSO the great grand daughter is adorable and those eyes could win a prize !

Boo.... great to hear you are doing so good and back to normal!

Dick... also glad your recovery and rehab going so well.   Dec 6 will be my 23rd anniversary of my quaduple by-pass so am living testimony to the Dr's skill and God's grace that it works and you now can hopefully make it to 100 !

HAPPY RAINY SUNDAY TO ALL

Marvin, Your Great-Granddaughter is adorable. Her eyes are so big and beautiful!  Is this your first Great?

Jim, your little princeness is adorable, too.  Was that her Halloween costume?

Glad to hear Boo and Suzi are doing so much better.  Hoping that Alan and Dick are doing good, too.

Everybody have a great Thanksgiving.  Looking forward to seeing everybody at the mini-reunion at the Ozark House 12/4.

Boo.....  since we bought her that princess dress at a Cracker Barrel down south, and she barefoot, I guess she is a "hillbilly" princess.....

Sandy ....  it wasn't bought as a costume, but she did end up wearing it for holloween!

Had such a great time passing through Bloomington and meeting for breakfast with Marve, Judy, Sandy and Jack,  Was even seriously thinking about coming down for Dec 4, but then realized we already have tickets for us and two widow friends to attend a "singing" Christmas tree perfomance that day sad!

Jim, it was fun meeting with you and Carol, Marvin and Judy and Jack at The Parkview for Breakfast.  Too bad you can't come down for the Christmas reunion, but maybe in the Spring, you can come down.   In 1988, while I was in the choir at Eastview Christian Church,  I was in a singing Christmas Tree.  It was so much fun to do and fun for people to watch. You will enjoy it, I'm sure.

Jim, beautiful princess.

Since I am new at this and you have 23 years experience, should I expect annual robo calls asking to extend my warranty.  I hope not.

YES.... in advanced math class on the second floor at the end of the hall at the far west end of the building.  And then over the speaker system came the message about President Kennedy!

Mike Franks:

I was at lunch at El Paso High. They turned on Walter Kronkite and placed the speaker beside the TV to announce the assassination.  I was amazed at the different reactions of people.

Hi everyone!  Hope you all have a wonderful, happy, and healthy Thanksgiving (or dia de gracias).

I am making these Cranberry Walnut Muffins to go with breakfast for tomorrow.  I'm sharing the recipe:

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup plus 3 tablespoons sugar

2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmet

1 cup whole fress cranberries, roughly chopped

1/2 cup chopped walnts

1 egg

1 cup milk

1/2 cup butter, melted

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.  Mix in cranberries and mix until just combined.  Scoop out into paper muffin liners in muffin tin and bake for 18-21 minutes, until golden brown on top.   Yields about 18 regular-sized muffins.

Good luck and happy eating y'all!

Linda

So.......we're heading toward Christmas now!

Headlines, on Yahoo this morning, makes me think that just maybe .....if I ever retire........I might move more northward and away from the border.

"Bodies hanging from Mexico overpasses: Powerful drug cartels are back to their old tactics"

We received news about a year ago that the FBI said cartels were also working out of El Paso.  Most of us, I suppose, already thought that.  But, ever since the release of that information, it seems like we are having more violence.

I hope everyone is safe in their area.

Love to all, Linda

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  I can't believe December is almost here.  I like to read all the messages and pics.  I too can't believe we are old enough to be grand grandparents.  I was looking thru a box of old photos and found a Xmas slumber party photo of Sue W, Bonnie M, Betty A, and Cathy Q  and realized they are all gone now. So many classmates gone to soon.

Linda - you say you want to move North.  I know the border may be bad but crazy perple are everywhere.  I went to WI to my daughters for Thanksgiving.  I was soooo happy that my grandson is no longer in the Waukesha West High School marching band.  What crazy person would run thru a parade of people, leave his vehicle, go to a house, say he was homeless and hungry, then be let in by the homeowner and given a sandwich!!!!!  My daughter said the homeowner was watching the Packer game and probably drunk-- took him time to realized something was wrong.  My daughter , granddaughter and I went to the memorial at Veterans' Park on Saturday. We had stopped at 2 stores to pickup flowers and places were out.   My daughter helped a couple hang an ornament on one of the crosses.  Lots flowers, candle, cards and signs, people stopping bye.

Hope the mini reunion is fun.  Someone take lots of pics.

Gail

Gail:

I believe you are correct.  Everywhere seems to be having more unusual violent unrest.  I think, however, that one day the border will be in my rearview mirror!  I've lived here since 1963 (almost 58 years).

Love ya, Linda
