This picture says it is Annie Shields. Our classmate, Annie Shields?   It is from the McLean County History Musuem Pantagraph Archives.  They have pictures on there now from 1947. This picture says it is Sandra Rust.  I wonder if it is our classmate, Sandra Rust?

This is Liz Alex's Dad, Rodney Spillman, Sr, holding her Brother,  Rodney Spillman, Jr and her Grandfather, MC Dunn.   Her Dad and Grandfather were both railroaders.  This is 3 generations of Spillman's in this picture.  Liz looks like her Dad.  He passed away when whe was 2 so pictures like this are really special.   I'm posting this for her with her permission.

Its fun to see old pictures.  Mel sent me this one of Mrs. Warren's 2nd grade class at Oakland School.
Mel, Marv, chuck Jenkins, me, Cathy Quiett, Holly Rust, and a lot of other classmates are in the picture.  This was before the "new addition" at Oakland School.

Sandy, I'm glad you are reviewing the Pantagraph photos at the McLean County History Museum. They are now releasing photos of our vintage. Love the photos of Annie Shields and Liz's family.

Maybe Holly will weigh in on the photo of Sandra Rust, but I'm pretty sure that is not her. She was named after her mother Harriett and had a sister Peggy. So maybe Sandra was a cousin, but not our Holly Rust.

Jim, thanks for your comments. Marv has been doing some hefty work on his property and I had a water leak in a kitchen pipe that swamped my art storage room. There are several hundred works of art stored there and they all need to be removed to put in new flooring and repair the wall. I'm only about 1/3 finished.

And Jim, my fireworks photos were taken at Monroe Harbor on Lake Michigan. There are too many buildings blocking my view, but I can sometimes see their reflections. One thing I miss this year...from my window I can see the White Sox ballpark. For homegames, they put on a fabulous fireworks display after weekend night games, which I not only see from my window, I can hear them loud and clear. With the MLB season being postponed, none of that is happening yet.

Anyone have a theme for tomorrow?

Melvin,  Sandra Rust was in our class, also.   At least I remember her and I re-checked the yearbook and her picture is with our senior class pictures in the 1964 yearbook.   Maybe someone can tell us if this "our" Sandra Rust.

Sounds like you and Marvin have been very busy.  At least you are inside with your work, where it is cooler.  Hope Marvin is staying cool, also, with the work he is doing.

Hope everybody is staying cool.

How about a theme...COLORFUL.  Could be just about anything that is full of color.

Sandy, you are absolutely right. That would be her. Mea culpa. I didn't know her, but after seeing what you wrote, I took a look and am wondering if she married Bob Dravis from our class. Sadly, neither of them have joined Raiders64. Anyone know where they are?

Wendy, COLORFUL will be fun for tomorrow. We did Bright Colors a few weeks ago, but there is no end to the possibilities. I already have mine picked out. LOL Don't be surprised if Jim is seen wearing another one of his Hawaiian shirts.

Well MEL .... I guess that is a challenge for me to dig out a really bright Hawaiian      shirt for tomorrow!

sue - those fish are amazing!

wendy - i was also in mrs. warren's class.  looking back i feel sorry for her having about 40 kids in the class.  she used to put tape over my mouth and put me in the hall.  the student population sure outgrew oakland quicker than they ever thought possible.

Julie,  I know you were in the class.  Can you find yourself in the photo?  I think we sat two to a desk in that big class.

Sue,  I have only seen fish that bright in an aquarium.

this is the so called "Locks of Love" bridge in Paris.  Every so often the City has to remove all the locks because of the weight on the bridge.

This one is the eave of a temple in South Korea

The roses in a neighbor's garden were amazing this year.

Marvin, I like the new song titles.  They made me laugh.

Sue, what did your Son do with the fish?   Looks like the one on the left was full of eggs.

I'm enjoying all the colorful pictures today.  Although, I don't have any contributions.

James (Jim) Rookus

OK Mel ... hear is my colorful contribution at your suggestion ... the only dilemma  was ... I could not decide which of these two was most colorful ... so I solved the problem with compromise...  Carol dared me to go to the store like this ... think NOT !!!

I'm sure most of you are getting tired of Chihuly pix, but his are the most colorful ones that I have.

Sandy, the resort where Ben and my husband were staying cleaned and flash froze the fish.  The resort sent the rock fish along with several pounds of the halibut they caught to us packed in dry ice.  We feasted on fish for quite a while and shared some with our neighbors who also love halibut.  Half the fish which they caught was shipped to our son in Florida.  I thought you might enjoy that particular picture since Ronnie was an avid fisherman.

OH MY, you guys really outdid yourselves today. Sue, those fish are brilliant. I've never seen anything like them. Jim, you are so creative. Who else would have thought of that? Max, Chihuly never gets old. Love the locks Wendy. There is a bridge in Moscow where newlweds do the same thing. Julie, seems like you've seen and done just about everything. Did you photograph the rock formations in Baja? They are spectacular and unique.

This COLORFUL photo will come as a shock to Marv. He doesn't know that while in stay-at-home mode I started growing a beard 11 weeks ago. I was trying to save it until our next meeting, but the heat and humidity are too much, so I'm thinking the whiskers might not last much longer. This photo with my granddaughter was taken two days ago. She insisted I get in her pool under a sprinkler rainbow. Then we did what we always do, we had a good humored stare-down. The beard has to go.

That is an impressive beard, Mel. Do you have a ponytail to go with it?
