You guys knocked it out of the ballpark yesterday. And today? Well, Jack's turkey and Wendy's raven take it to another level. I love it when people think outside the box.

This is my AUTOBIRDOGRAPHY.

Canadian Geese with several Mom's and about 21 babies at Miller Park.   I didn't get all of the babies in the picture.            At least one baby looked like it was posing for me.

How about doing Celebrities on Saturday?

David Long

Are stories of meeting celebs OK?

Here would be my list:

Anne Heche

Lily Tomlin

Steve Martin

Jack Nicklaus

Arnold Palmer

Dixie Carter

Robert Redford

Hubie Brown

Pat O'Brien

Chris Riley (Pat Riley's wife)

Barbara Eden

Didn't take pictures with any of them, but I do have a putter that Arnold gave me..

My goodness, David.  Did you meet and talk to all these people?    Stories would be ok with me. Since you started this little game I think you can make the rules.  Go for it.

This parrot was wild and visited the upper level of a restaurant near Puerto Vallarta Mexico to be hand fed french fries which is what you see in his beak. A woman about 70 years old sat at the same table and fed him every day. He would watch for her and fly to a rail right next to her table.

Bald eagle was part of a birds of prey demonstration at Scarborough Fair in Texas.

This owl was also part of the birds of prey demonstration.

Young girl feeding pigions at Piazza San Marco in Venice Italy.

Canada goose family at Anglers Nature Preserve in Bloomington.

Red Billed Streamertail bird in Jamaica

I'm looking for volunteers to do the birthdays from now on.

Dearest Suzi, SUZI, SUZI,

You certainly deserve a break. As Max and I said a couple of days ago, we are all indebted to you for what you have done over the past several years when this site was almost dormant to keeping everyone informed of birthdays. I'll take the next few days, but after that I hope someone else jumps in. As you may have guessed, I'm not very reliable...just kidding....but I do hope someone else out there will be willing to fill your enormous shoes.

I know I'm not alone in wondering if everything is all right. PLEASE, let us know how you and Dave are doing. WE LOVE YOU!!!

Mel

I watched the entire track video.  Enjoyed spotting Karl Frye and Bob Dirks, of other  classes.  Gosh Dave, you have a lot of miles under your belt.

question...did your glasses fog up?

at the end there was some water skiing and other stuff.  I watched the whole thing.

Looks like I get to start off Free for All Friday. These four photos make up a little for what I should have posted this week -- statues, birds, flowers, bridges.

The dawn of Y2K: Miller Park on the morning of January 1, 2000.

Festival of Ladybugs in a thistle bloom. Mendota, Illinois, May 21, 2000

Beat Michigan! It's Game Day at Ohio State in November, 2012.

Any Ohio politician can tell you "Beat Michigan" is both his foreign policy and the state motto.

And finally -- I'd never seen anything like this when I found it in East Central Illinois: a whole field of dead sunflowers. Acres of them. For a minute, I thought i was back in Kansas!

And so it goes.

I found my pictures of the  Bridges of Madison County in Iowa.  This is Roseman Bridge.      This is Cedar Bridge that is featured on the cover of the book of Bridges of Madison County    This is Hollowell Bridge     Does anybody remember at what bridge they buried her ashes so she could be with his ashes?   I don't, and I don't want to watch the movie again.  I read the book before watching the movie so I knew not to go to the theater to see the movie.  I cried and sobbed at the ending.

Is there anything you can't find on the internet??   I just looked up and it was the Roseman Bridge where they scattered her ashes with his.

Here are a few I forgot to include on other days

this is a banana tree in the Singapore Botanical Garden.  All the people in the background are waiting to get into the orchid section

This was for the transportation day...the Peak Tram in Hong Kong

I like pictures of paths and doors.  Here you get both.  This is in Carmel, California

Annie Shields Ventura has asked that this photo of her grand-daughter be posted. Annie intended for it to be posted with the statues but I think her grand-daughter is a far more important character. Annie expressed how very proud she is of this young lady who recently graduated from Baylor University in Waco, TX and plans to pursue post graduate studies.

Wendy - Loved your cross stitch bird. It may seem weird but there was a time when I tried my hand at counted cross stitch because of a picture I wanted on a shirt and it was the only way I knew how to make it happen. I will try to remember to post a a picture of it when I get home from Florida.

Max - Were the glass photos from a Chihuly display in Las Vegas? Great color!

Dave - Very fun video. Thanks for taking the time to make this available.

Today is "MAY DAY" so here is a purple and gold flower photo especially for you Raiders. Did any of you in your youth make little paper baskets, put flowers in them, hang them on doors, ring the door bell and run away for May Day? Dad had access to wallpaper sample books which we used to make our baskets.

Turtle at Shed Aquarium in Chicago. He may be doing the "freestyle" but my guess is more like the underwater breast stroke.

Dave Holt never gave up wrestling after HS. I caught this shot of him steer wrestling in Dallas, TX in 2012.

Several years ago I burned something in the oven and observed the resulting smoke being highlighted by sunlight coming through an upper vaulted ceiling window. I took some experimental pics of the smoke and was shocked at what appeared in this one. Do see why the image shocked me?

Love the pics! I have a lot of pics of Eastern bluebirds that best in our box each year. Most are videos. I wish I had pics of my days as a volunteer raptor rehabilitator at Columbia Zoo. So gratifying to work with hawks, owls and eagles so they could return to the wild. Unbelievable how large these predators are up close and personal.

This isn't a competition, but both Wendy and Joan get my vote for best in show this week, Wendy for the raven in boots; and Joan for the pumpkin carving. Both are great.

This is one of the many road signs I encountered on a country highway near Kashin, Russia. The funny part about this one is that steam engines haven't been used there for over 50 years. Looking further down the road, there is an English STOP sign, which in Cyrilic should be ะกะขะžะŸ. It all seemed a little strange, but so was everything else in Russia.
