Too funny - scary how true it is!!!

If my body was a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull...
But that's not the worst of it.

My headlights are out of focus,
And it's especially hard to see things up close.

My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.

My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.

It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.

But here's the worst of it.

Thank you as well Milan.  For excitement, I did go out and have banana pancakes and coffee this morning...after walking the dog.  Now, the off and on torrential downpours are putting a damper..so to speak,,,on evening plans.

Happy Birthday Jack. Hope the rains let up and you and Dee got out!

Dee actually got out last Thursday.......presumably so she didn't have to buy me a present.  She's in FL on a quick trip meeting HS friends .....but the weather down there sucks too...so they spend their time re-arranging the condo and throwing stuff out (donating).

Me, I went to a Lombard restaurant called Capone's, which will be the set of yet another TV "reality" show (The Capones)  this Fall.  About who else?.....the descendents of Al Capone.  We all know "reality" shows are real.

Food was good.....and the cast was there.

Mary Giermann (Brucker)

Happy 67th, Mr. Jack.  It is raining (imagine that) so unable to mow grass. Being older, you to will become a little slower throughout the year. Responding timely is just another issue of aging.  Many more happy birthdays to you,

Mary moose.

Thanks Mary.  No need to send a present…..I counted last year’s pancakes toward that.  Sorry you can’t mow the lawn because of all the rain.  I’m beside myself as well, because I can’t water all the flowers front and back, every morning and night…every morning and night..

Slower?  I already move like molasses.

There is no way to predict what might happen in Bloomington. This past Saturday was Trotter Fountain Day in celebration of the Lorado Taft sculpture at Withers Park. I was absolutely thrilled at all our classmates who came out on a day that was threatend with severe weather to get in on the historic and cultural presentations from two aldermen, the superintendent of parks, Bill Kemp and a whole lot more. To those of you who were there, A HUGE THANKS and I hope you enjoyed every minute of it. It was a great afternoon. Notice that the city actually turned the water on for the first time in almost thirty years just for the occasion. (If you missed it, go back to entry #3862 for the poster.)

Left to right: Marvin Theobald, Judy Neal, Milan Jackson, Jack and Jan Keefe, Ann Bailen, and yours truly. A few folks left before the photo...Ken and Pat Lehr and Jan Fries with her husband Dennis.

Congratulations!   What a nice feather to add in your cap for sure.  The world seems to be absent of caring and diligent conservators.   You're the best!

Annie took this of Ken and Patty Lehr and my wife Billie and me at the Trotter Fountain. Kenny and Billie should not have stood next to each other with those shirts on. (laugh)

Melvin (Mel) Theobald

The shirts? MIlan, did you notice the glasses? Billie and Ken looked like tourists from outer space. Fortunately you and Patty look normal. Yes, that is Patty being normal. Don't you just love it? Annie should open a "Funny Portraits" photography business. At least it proves they were there, or does it? I don't see the fountain anywhere. Thanks to Annie for getting this to you so you could help us all get a good laugh today. Now everyone is happy!!! How about we send Annie out on special assignment to get funny shots of Maxwell, Habich and Stanfield? Then we'll give her a solo exhibition at the 50th Reunion. Our treasury would overflow, Annie would be famous and we'd have 100% attendance.

I hope the Planning Committee is paying attention. Wake up guys. Where's Mike Smedley when we need him?

What do we know about Fred Clemens???????????????

06/07/13 12:55 PM #3854

Rodney (Rod) Hayes

Tim,Tim Schmidt.  If you ever look at this web site, please give Mike Howard a shout out.  He got on the site as a visitor and I have had a couple conversations with him.  He asked about Ron Bess and wanted to know what and how you are doing.

Max, I know you sometimes see Tim.  If so, could you give him this message above.  Thanks

Milan.  Fred Clemens.  About 2 years ago, I got a letter from Freddie.  Somehow, through his brother Byron, he got my address.  What a surprise.  I sat down to write him back, but I never seem to finsih it and then time just passed.  He had followed in his father's footsteps in the Ministries.  Unfortunately, he didn't mention too much about any family or what all he has done through his life.  He didn't even list an e-mail address.  He didn't mention anyone specific as to what had been going on.  He mostly just reminded me about all the times we all had back in the day.  I still have the letter, so I will get it out over the week-end and let everyone know what he had to say.  I do have an address also.  And now that I am reminded, I will drop him a line and let him know about the web site.

Rod, glad to hear you are up on Fred. I was surprised to see that he wasn't on the Classmate Profiles, so I checked the 64 Yearbook and he's not there. He was in the 63 book. Did he move after junior year? I don't remember. No matter, he should definitely be on the list or entered as a guest member.

Mary Selk asked me about Fred and until then, I hadn't noticed he wasn't on this site. Makes me wonder if they moved in his senior year?

Fred lives in Huntsville, Alabama now.

Mel - Milan

Fred's family moved before graduation.  That was in his letter.  I will send as much info from the letter as I can.  I really think Fred would be thrilled to have this site to communicate on.
