Then why do I itch all over???? I had a 57 Chev and yes it did go to STEAK N SHAKE. As for the drive in I had a friend that lived in the farm house behind it we would walk to the back fence and watch the movie!

This is what I drove in high school. It actually belonged to my sister but she worked a lot and it was the family car. It saw lots of trips through the Gag. :)

I remember the streetcars but I was never on one. I would guess the early 50's would have been the last streetcar. Just a guess.

I don't think the streetcars were in service when we were growing up, but I do remember the tracks they used to run on.  Wouldn't it be fun to have them back again?

Streetcars stopped running in Bloomington in February of 1953.

Wednesday: Snow and areas of blowing snow before noon, then areas of blowing snow and a chance of snow after noon. High near 20. Wind chill values between -2 and 3. Blustery, with a northwest wind 25 to 28 mph decreasing to between 17 and 20 mph. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

I was on the streetcar it was on Locust at Allen because I remember the school! I think this must have been about 47 because we moved to Piken about then.

Just a quick note about the BHS Cheerleading Competition being held Friday and Saturday at U.S. Cellular.  BHS won the BIG 12 last weekend and this is State.  These girls work very hard and put in alot of time into this.  Bloomington competes at 10:40 on Friday and if they place then they compete on Saturday.  This is a very talented team and they do not get any newspaper coverage.  They deserve the support just like the boys sport teams.

Thanks Milan!  My oldest granddaughter cheers for BHS and they really put in alot of hours started in September going until basketball season if over.  I think competition is over this weekend.  I'm going to wear my purple and gold!!
