Steve,

Such a great use for a beautiful old historic building!

Would love to see one of the units! If anyone gets a chance, take some pics!  Terri (Boo)

Guess who Boo. This is from the Pantagraph archives in 1950 (now at the McLean County History Museum). There are a few others. If you haven't seen them, I'll send them to you. So adorable. Love the pigtails.

Mel:

That photo of Boo with her big brother and her sister is just precious.  It brings back good memories for me too!

Thank you for finding that photo and sharing with us!

Linda

1962-1963  Posted on Facebook.  A little past when we were at BJHS, but I recognized most of the teachers.  They said Bill Cummins was the music teacher but he wasn't the music teacher when we were there. Anyway, his name doesn't sound familiar.   I remember Miss Spiegel in 7th grade at Bent and Miss Selk in High School.  I was always in choir but can't remember who the music teacher was at BJHS.  Does anybody remember?

Sandra:

Thank you for posting this.  Her name was Sandra something.  On the bottom page of faculty, her photo is in line 2, second photo.  She was so good!   That lady could really sing too!

Love ya, Linda

Linda,  Wouldn't you think I could remember her last name if her 1st name was the same as mine?  ha-ha.   She doesn't look familiar, either.   I wonder why I am having a mental block about music in Junior High School?  Thanks for helping with the 1st name.  Maybe somebody else can help with the last name.

Sandy...   Bottom picture:  Row 4, last picture on right side you have Mr. Shob with a question mark.  I'm pretty sure that is Ken Lehr's dad, Elmer.  Top Picture:  Row 2, second picture from left side is Mr. Schaab.  Both of them taught industrial arts.  I taught industrial arts after college mainly because of Mr. Schaab.  He was my favorite teacher when we were in Jr. High School.

Somebody on Facebook said they thought Miss Spiegel was at BJHS. So maybe she left Bent and went on to BJHS.  Looking at her picture, and trying to remember what she looked like, I think they might be right.  She is in the bottom picture, 2nd row, 2nd person.  That would explain why I don't remember another music teacher.  I just had her from 7th thru 9th grades for music.

February Birthday:  Happy Birthday to you all!

Rookus:  Thanks for the photo of snow.  That is as close as I want to get to it.  However, we did get a dusting 2 weeks ago.  I love to see the snow in photos but I no longer wish to live in it!

Love and Blessings to you all!

Carol, I have many wonderful memories of you in Art Club. Not sure if your reference to Terry is Terry Maxell or someone else. But who is Oren? Would like to know who he is and his relationship to Raiders64. Hope you are staying warm during this polar vortex.

Thank you Carol!  Loved seeing your pics of him.  Glad you had them.  I knew that you were friends with him because you mentioned it quite awhile back.

Mel...  Oren Schaab was my 7th grade industrial arts teacher at Irving School.  He influenced me to consider becoming an industrial arts teacher... and I guess succeeded in doing so.  Gerald Jackson at the high school also worked on me to be an IA teacher.

Thanks for clarifying Max. I couldn't figure out who Carol was talking about. Now it makes sense. It is amazing how many of our teachers influnenced us in our lives. For me it was Diane Mamoth at BJHS snd Elizabeth Stein at BHS. Would love to hear from others whose teachers changed their lives. We were so lucky.
